Wow, this looks spectacular!

I'll be honest I tried playing SS2 and could never get very far because the graphics just didn't do it for me. I'm trying not to be a graphics whore, and I love old 2D games, but the early 3D is just unbearable. This will allow me to play the game and enjoy it!

I just might toss some money their way, assuming they will have a DRM-free version.

Strange, i couldn't stop playing SS2 till the very end. It gave me creeps, my jaw nearly dropped when i first witnessed SHODAN. My most discomfort came from a thought that one way or another the game would end. Sure 3D models are outdated, they were even when the game was fist released, but this game makes everything else near perfect. And not many game have you, the player, being telepathically communicated when least expected, playing in headphones may raise your blood sugar dramatically

As for the DRM-free version, that is not yet confirmed

me too, apparently they need money to finish the development process, considering this studio is quite small i see no contradiction here

it's your choice, i doubt they'll ask 1 million US dollars, therefore i wouldn't call them greedy, at least not now

just quote kolya:

"Hello Larry,

I have removed the download of System Shock Portable, into which a whole community including myself have invested years of work. This game was once created by a bunch of extremely smart people in Boston who favoured individual thinking and personal skills over capitalism and following the rules. Have you played it?

The laws that you are using now to make money from their and our work were once put in place to protect creative workers and those who invested in their endeavours to ensure that they get paid. But your company never created anything. "Night Dive" is just a device to misuse the legal system and fill Stephen Kick's pockets.

Go get a real job, Larry. Do something that isn't just enough to pay the rent. Write. Draw. Create something. Be more than a leech. And play System Shock.

Sincerely, Nicolai "Kolya" Sandow"

It does, Sadly won't be able to fund them as I don't use kickstarter.
I just buy games when they're actually purchasable.

*sigh*

Night Dive just wanted them to stop distributing free versions of SS when they got he rights to sell, they are still free to work on the mod as much as they want. And that makes perfect sense to any rational human being.

i don't think to continue this discussion, cause it ends up in a argument loop driven by arrogance and ignorance. in fact it already started, since you're implying that i'm irrational. i just answered your "???" reply. its your decision to agree or not.

Was the offered SSP a distribution of the full game? Yes.
Was the full game available to purchase? Yes.
Do ND object to the modding of the game? No.
If the old SSP was replaced with a mod installer that looks for the base game, ND would not ask them to take it down.
