Do gifted games count toward my XP or do I actually have to buy the games myself? I have to put in the code and it shows up in my order history so I don't see why it wouldn't count towards my XP. Thanks in advance for the answers!

I don't think gifted games count. The person who buys the game code gets the XP instead.

Why not? A gift is still a purchase. The FAQ doesn't say either way.

Edit: Disregard, I misread. We agree. OP wants XP for the gifts they got. Hah.

I assume that the XP is a reward for, you know, spending money? Why would you get XP for nothing?

Yes, a gift is a purchase. Made by the person who bought the gift code. That's why this person will get the XP.
The reason why I ask is because the gift still shows up in my order history so it's a little confusing. But it seems the person gifting would get the XP. Thanks, I just wanted to know!
