noir_7: I know they made a short anime based off the game but I haven't played the game itself. There are video playthroughs you could watch to get a feel for the gameplay.

I'm waiting for Chronicles of Riddick to get discounted, probably will pick up Rebel Galaxy too.
I've actually been trying to avoid watching too many videos so that I can avoid potential spoilers for the puzzles and/or story segments. That's the reason I was looking for advice from my fellow GOGers, since I don't want to ruin anything should I choose to buy (or not buy) a different version of Corpse Party. Also, I didn't know there was an anime adaptation. I guess that's always an option too!

omega64: Remind me later via PM I could tell you quite a bit about Corpse Party.
Thanks! I'll send you a message since I'm currently on the fence about whether or not I should buy.
How well does Mark of the Ninja play with mouse & keyboard? I'd really like to buy it, but I'm trying to avoid spending money on any more games of that type that have lackluster m+kb control (compared to using a gamepad) until I get a controller. (I talked myself into buying GRID recently, even though I knew it would be just such a game -- racing game, duh -- and, while it's surprisingly playable using just the keyboard, it's less fun/more difficult than it needs to be because of my playing it that way.)

I have played through Mark of the Ninja twice, first time I didn't have a gamepad and it worked just fine with mouse and keyboard. Second time I tried with a gamepad but everything got more complicated with gamepad.
I tried playing Mark of the Ninja with keyboard + mouse. Just installed it and tried again. The feel I get is that it is solely designed for an XBox controller.

With keyboard + mouse you can't pan the camera, and even though there is a mouse cursor, it doesn't really do much. Right-clicking throws a grabbling hook towards the nearest hightlighted target, regardless of your mouse cursors position. If there is several targets, you can select one by mouse-over, though.

Left-clicking initiates an attack, and then there is a quicktime event where you have to swipe in a certain direction.

There are something offputting about it, but maybe it gets better when I get out of the tutorial section?

It plays pretty well without a controller, but it depends on your playstyle. If you haven't played a lot wih a controller it's easier. When I tried it with a controller it seemed somwhat harder, but that's maybe becaus eof the fact that I've never played a lot with controllers (except NES and N64)

KasperHviid:
Not really, the game really was designed for a controller.
Amazing game with one though.

Might still get it, but...shit.

Thanks, everyone. : )

BrokenSaint: For anyone interested in Point and Clicks, I recommend that you get Syberia 1&2. They are both great games and the third one is supposed to be releasing this December, so it is a great time to get them.

I would also like everyone's opinion on whether Battlezone 98 Redux is worth the current price or if I should wait for a bigger discount.
avatar
Incognita97: Yes, yes, I agree. I actually own Syberia 1 & 2 on disc, but I bought them when they went on sale on gog, because I'm afraid one day I'll lose the discs. Also, yesterday I watched the new vids about Syberia 3 and I'm so excited. I've been waiting years for it. :)

I'd also like to point out that, while I haven't had a chance to play it yet, The Last Express is a game that almost never goes on sale and I was absolutely floored to see it was discounted on my wishlist.
I also own the discs for both Syberias, but I just had to get them here so I can play them again in time for Syberia 3 ( still can't believe this is happening :) ). I wont be watching any videos in case they spoil the story, but I am optimistic that it will be good.

Also I have thought about buying The Last Express, but I am unsure about the art style. What makes the game worth buying?

truhlik: Actually I was hoping in Bethesda could release Oblivion during this sale. Not :/
The sale hasn't ended yet, so there's still hope

If there was to be a release as big as that I would think it would be at the very end of the sale.

Awesome link!
Don't tease me:)
How is Grim Fandango? I recently finished Psychonauts, and I am now convinced Tim Schafer is a genius. I'm not a big fan of super-difficult puzzles though.

I played it quite long ago but I don't recall any super-difficult puzzles in it. Maybe a couple that takes some thinking or trial and error but definitely not SUPER difficult. Overall, it's quite good. One of the better adventure games out there, I can still remember some of the funniest lines even today.
Has anyone tried that TrickStyle game at all? I can't figure out if it works with an Xbox 360 controller or not.
