Lin545: If you don't see this, then there is little to discuss :)
I guess, you are fan of Xcom Apocalypse :)
This is no way to have a conversation. I guess you were just looking to word-vomit and not have discourse about anything. Your perspective is the only true one, and who cares if anyone can see it as long as you know you're correct.

and I've never played any X-Com games

It's unfortunate you're so close-minded that you can't enjoy a superb RPG.

Has anyone played Serpent in the Staglands? I've had my eyes on it for a while, and I guess it won't get any cheaper anytime soon, and the devs seem like cool people worthy of support anyway, but I'm usure whether I'd enjoy it. I seldom hear people talking about it, and the little I've read and remember was mostly criticism of its lack of accessibility, I think. So I'd like to hear from people who've actually played it (if there are any), what they thought about it, and if it's got an interesting story.

I know there's a demo, but so far I didn't feel compelled to play it just for testing purposes (a bad sign, maybe?).

Yes. :)

Are you any chance LGBT? Because I detect quite a conglomeration of patterns. :)
I read about Gacy recently, "nice" guy :)

Edit:
In previous posting I have provided all the details and references in a little package without offending you.
If its taken as "offending closed minded one-vision word-vomit" then we have little to discuss. :) Which means I respect your and my time due to difference in tastes, but go ahead, interpretate it freely. :)

I was reading reviews for that title on Steam. One thumbs down review on the front page managed to talk me out of buying it. The battle system described leaves a lot to be desired.

Ghorpm: Good luck with your exams!

The game looks like this: at the beginning you can set-up how big the galaxy is, how difficult AIs are and number of other settings. There is no mission based campaign or anything. Beating a small galaxy with medium AIs can be rather short (several hours). My longest game with pretty aggresive AIs took me 33h to complete. It might be advisible to switch off DLCs at your first playthroughs to get the idea hiw things work and switcxh them on leter on to fully enjoy the complexity of the game.
Thanks for the quick response. I was hoping for that kind of customization when starting a new game so now you've sold me on this game.

Thursday afternoon, I'll have no more exams, time to play this game while having some pizza, mmmmmmm, sounds like a good plan :)

Thanks! I checked the first negative review now, in case that's the one, and while I'm not sure the combat system would annoy me as much, I'm quite worried about the trash mobs, nameless npcs and empty houses that supposedly make exploration seldom interesting or rewarding ... That would bother me a lot.

It's more of a multi-person detective / spy game. What is interesting about is that you are not really supposed to kill people, instead sneak behind and make people go hands up, then they are frozen like that until another enemy comes and gives them the all clear, makes for interesting gameplay dynamics even if it's rough around the edges.

My biggest complaint would be lack of customization of the size and how to use the cameras, I would have preferred to have one large for the one I'm controlling and smaller for the others.

There were no difficulties in the earlier versions but now with Normal and Easy it's not too challenging but I actually enjoyed playing Hard; it requires you to use the Radio Man, moving around a big ass radio that gives you visual representation of your characters. It made the game feel old school with a touch of originality. At the current price, it's definitely worth it just to see if you will like it. Just make sure to give it some time as it's more of an acquired taste and not as accessible as most FPS.

I've been interested in that game as well but I've been weary too because of the things you mentioned, it's also annoying that almost no one talks about it. I remember it was advertised as drawing inspiration of Darklands but apparently after release, many saw it as an indie version of Baldur's Gate 1.

Sounds cool! Do you know if it has a windowed mode? Does it use OpenGL or DirectX?

As I recall it supports window mode and it uses OpenGL.

It also supports DirectX 9 but I think OpenGL had less issues and higher performance.

I have been eyeing the city builder bundle, but I don't want all 4 games (for now). Any recommendations about what I should start with? Also, I'd like to buy afterlife, since the setting is interesting, but is it worth the price if I can't get the full discount?
Err.. do King's Bounty 3 and 4 still suck even if "complete"?

Thanks for the info! :)
Stronghold Crusader 2 is up for only $10 right now (from $55)! For someone who hasn't played a Stronghold game before is it worth it? Looks fun, but I heard not-so-great things about it....

I would say no. Not for a newbie. While I love the franchise, it just has gone downhill ever since the original two games. Sure, I have been tempted by the current price, but all the negative things I've read about the game give me serious pause. Not to mention it's supposed to be quite tough.

I'd recommend you buy Stronghold HD and Crusader HD instead for only $4. It has some lovely 2D artwork, and a pretty intuitive interface for such a game. Also, I'd recommend to start with playing the first Stronghold's campaign as it's pretty good at teaching you the ropes. Crusader (classic HD > extreme) pretty much already expects you to know what you're doing.
