The first Summer Sale game giveaway is here with an action RPG Hellpoint available to claim now and keep forever.

Released less than a year ago, Hellpoint is a dark and challenging game set in a unique sci-fi universe where the line between science and occultism is blurred. Explore the ruins of Iris Novo space station, discover its gruesome secrets, encounter cruel interdimensional entities, and battle them using dozens of melee and ranged weapons.

Hellpoint giveaway runs until June 16th, 2021, at 1 PM UTC.
Thanks for the game.

PaterAlf: There's a third group which is probably the overwhelming majority: People who don't care and subscribe now to get the free game. In the future they will get the newsletter which makes it more likely that they will buy new releases or games on promo. And that's the gain for GOG.
Exactly this. The vast majority in most cases when it comes to everything these days is people who don't care. So having means of staying in touch with them is always beneficial. An extremely small percentage of people who complain gets far outweighed by the potential gain.

Another great thing about the game is that it has a Native Linux version as well.

Sachys: I take it the co-op requires galaxy?!
avatar
Dark_art_: Overall most helpful review by Mawthra states that Galaxy is not needed to multiplayer.
Looks like this may not be the case:

I've checked and can't connect online - wont even let me select that tab in game.

Edit: can confirm galaxy is required for online play.

Looks like a sequel.

Hellpoint: The Thespian Feast. This is a standalone story in Hellpoint universe, a dark and challenging action RPG set in the world where the line between science and occultism is blurred. The Thespian Feast tells the story of an investigator arriving at Irid Novo station 50 years after the Hellpoint events.

Did some digging and it seems like it's a sequel chapter that came out before the main game (February 20th while Hellpoint proper came out July 30th) but takes place 50 years after the events of the main game. So a short sequel to a game that hasn't even been released yet when it came out. Really no idea why they did it that way. Probably served as a sort of a demo back then but now that the main game is out, it should probably be played after that.

The graphics of the page simply suggest that was their way of publishing a demo.

GOG.com: Summer Sale giveaway: Hellpoint
Thank you, GOG and Cradle Games/tinyBuild for the freebie!

In all honesty: until today, I wasn't even aware that this game exists - much less, that it is available on GOG.
It totally flew under my radar.
Nooo, I already own the game! Gimme some other game of same quality, Gog!
