Exciting news. Fall 2022 though... It better be good.

After over a decade since the last one (The PSP one we didn't get doesn't count.), I'll take what I can get.

I played it a few years ago and was pleasantly surprised by what I found.

Will back this when it comes around, provided the dev pushes for a GOG release.

Was it recently removed from GOG?

I'm not sure it was ever on GOG. magog and gogdb have no knowledge of it.

The closest I could find was a Sudeki that was removed last May.

I played it on GOG a few years ago. I guess they did remove it. I would want confirmation from the devs before backing it.

Erm,...if you would have played it "on GOG", then it would still be in your account.

I played Suikoden on the Playstation a long time ago and always wanted that series and Saga Frontier to come the PC, but have had no such luck.

While I hope they succeed, Kickstarter projects have been hit or miss. Even industry veterans have floundered.

This is great and all but I'd much rather see someone surgically remove Konami's head from its own butt so they could just release a collection of the existing titles. Hell, I'd even buy a console if it were to be console only.

Also, thanks to this thread I'm going to be whistling tunes from the games all damned day again. It is statistically impossible for me to talk about this series and not just have music from it pop into my head. Seriously, the music in those games is so good it could simultaneously cure ligma, Nintendon-itis, Segantism, Pey-Sony's Disease and any other ridiculous and totally not made up for a laugh malady you can think of.

I mean, TECHNICALLY 1 and 2 did, but not in the west.
Suikoden 1 on PC only came out in Japan, China, and either a 3rd country (I think probably Taiwan.) or Asia in general.

Suikoden 2 on PC only came out in China.
Yes, even Japan didn't get that version.
I am as confused as you are, which is a shame cause you can find screenshots of it and the game is a little sharper.

On the flip side, if GOG is feeling particularly saucy, they could annoy Konami for the rights to localize the PC versions, as the translations for the PS1 versions are already there to use, just need to port the text.

I don't know the full story with Xseed and Falcom, but they seemed to have done a good job with the Trails series. They would be a solid choice for localizing Suikoden to PC.

And apparently already hit minimum funding, only 3 hours needed apparently and it crashed the site 3 times.
I never realized there were that many Suikoden fans.
