You can now store your card for later use.

When making any purchase with a credit or debit card, you can now select the option to save your card for later use.

If your payment is successful, that card will be remembered for later use. You'll be able to select it during your next checkout without retyping the info every time. Simple, straightforward, and probably very familiar.

We're taking advantage of tried and tested industry-standard solutions used across the world today. Among other things, this means your entered payment data isn't actually kept anywhere on GOG.com. Once your bank approves the purchase, your entered card number is replaced with a unique, encrypted token that can be used only by us to process your future payments, and which cannot be reverse engineered to resolve your card number and data. From time to time, we'll also ask you to verify your information based on a number of security factors, like if you haven't used that card in a long time.

While it's not required, we also strongly recommend enabling Two-Step Login before saving your payment details.

Keep in mind that you can easily remove your saved payment method through the My Account / Orders section. We'll also automatically invalidate all payment tokens for any account that hasn't been used in a long time.

We hope the feature turns out to be particularly useful soon, when you may just feel compelled to click really, really fast.

Uh thanks but no thanks, I prefer not to make it easier for hackers to steal my cash which is why I never save card info anywhere.

Nice feature, but more importantly, thanks for keeping it optional!
You don´t understand, we want another game not an option to save our data. :P

Nice feature for those that use a debit card and want to get it done fast and comfortable though. :)

Interesting, I've seen a lot of people praise the fact that this kind of information wasn't stored.

Not something I'll use as I'm not a fan of saving my card details (though your explanation given makes it far more appealing), but at least it's optional and I'm sure there are those who will appreciate it.

I seem to distinctly remember a bluetext saying that GOG will never implement such as system, as it would be too much of a security risk. So while I applaud the use of multiple security precautions, I wonder what really changed the management's mind.

At the same time, the final paragraph is a massive teaser for an insomnia/timeline sale, so they must really want us to spend as much and as quickly as possible.
I like that it isn`t being saved. As long as I have this option per default, I am happy ;)

Yeah, was under the impression it was intentionally so.

Hmm, could this be hinting at insomnia or something similar?

You´re right, I completely missed that part.

Well, it´s only soon and not very soon. :P

Ok, that is a total teaser for an upcoming Insomnia sale if I've ever seen one. The cat is out of the bag! :P
Actually happy to hear that. Chances for hackers to steal it are low as fuck (you guys should be worried more about skimmers here and there, and USA players might be worried WHEN they get a system that requires PIN to each transaction made in store. I know, this sound like magic but it's a common feature in Europe). And even if so, honestly, there's currently no safer-when-hacked thing that credit card - your bank will bitch about the hacking of your bank account and it'll take months to get money back. Your local police will laugh about stolen wallet. But CC companies will issue your temporary funds ASAP after you report being hacked, so there's no really reason to be worried. And if those can be used only on GoG, well, you're not best target of carders... Unless they want to play video games. Yup.
History shows us that it's better not to save the payment info. But well, as long as it's optional. Most other places make it mandatory for some inane reason.
Clearly people don't use their card enough. I have long since memorised the number so I don't have to go get my wallet every time I want to buy another game.

Of course, I'll soon have to get a new card, and thus memorise another number. I'll certainly be typing the wrong thing for a while.
