Example 1
Sorting by user rating:
https://www.gog.com/games?search=Metroidvania&page=1&sort=rating
Ghost 1.0 (4.3) is before Hollow Knight (4.7)

Example 2
Sorting by bestselling:
https://www.gog.com/games?search=Metroidvania&page=1&sort=popularity
Again, Ghost 1.0 (and many others where it's unlikely) before Hollow Knight (also e.g. Bloodstained...).
Granted, here, I have no proof but... I seriously doubt that.
