May as well start a thread on the next game in the SteamWorld series.

The next game in the series will be released in fall this year. SteamWorld Dig was a very good game, though sever;y overlooked. However, don't expect a very similar game for Heist. The only thing they have in common is the universe.

Blurb from website:
"SteamWorld Heist is a game about space adventures and strategic shoot-outs. Play as Captain Piper and recruit a team of rag-tag robots to explore and scavenge the remains of a destroyed world. Board enemy spaceships and command your crew in a unique variety of turn-based combat, where the outcome is determined purely by your own skills."

So it is more of a 2D turn-based, strategical rogue-like.

That looks like fun. I stink at platformers so this could be a good way for me to experience that type of world but with a gameplay mechanic more suited for players like myself.

I really enjoyed SteamWorld Dig, so I would buy the new game as well. Voted!
Would really like to see this here, it looks like a lot of fun (and the original Steam world was a fun and interesting world)
I figure it's just a matter of time before it gets here... I hope. I'd definitely buy it.
Voted. I'd love to see the game here. I would buy it on release day. Hope that it will be here soon.
Steamworld Dig is here, so that increases the chances of getting Heist as well.

On the other hand, the fact that the new game's website only lists "Steam" as a PC distributing platform kind of decreases said chances... :\
This looks cool! Loved Steamworld Dig. Might have to reinstall that gem...

On a third hand, you will notice that the page for SteamWorld Dig also only lists Steam as a PC distributing platform. ;P

"Julius Guldbog [developer]
Hi! At the moment it's Steam only. But chances are good for both Humble and GOG, eventually :) /Julius, community manager"
Had no idea Steamworld Heist was due out, let alone that it was released already.

Hope it is longer than Steamworld was though.

Curiously, steam page shows "The third game in the SteamWorld universe".

What was the second?

I think you guessed wrong. :P

On the page you linked, it says "Explore the lore that inspired SteamWorld Dig and SteamWorld Heist." Also, it was released in July 2010.

So that's the order: Tower Defense (2010) > Dig (2013) > Heist (2015)
