Got scammed there for 1.99$ game.
And probably very recently got scammed here by a level 22 steam member for 13.34$ game.
Steam have many members but very few are warm hearted.
Most of them don't care about others.
I have met nice people who are on steam from outside steam.
Else who ever I met directly on steam was a jerk.

The fact is that GOG attracts a completely different audience than Steam--all incendiary comments aside. GOG skews older by its very nature. It's rare for younger people to care about old PC games, and the massive population of younger people on Steam (I've met 13-year-olds on there) often doesn't even know what DRM is. Anyone remember Xbox Live in 2004? It's a similar situation with Steam now: lots of kids, lots of angry teens. Which isn't to say that there aren't great people on Steam as well, because I've met plenty of them. Even most of them, though, didn't know about GOG until I told them about it.
GOG draws a mostly adult userbase, and a lot of them are from the older and more respectful (i.e. pre-4chan) Internet era. Those are, in general, the people who care about what GOG is selling. Not that GOG doesn't have jerks. I just see a lot more maturity around these parts, owing to the specific draw of GOG. And I say all this as someone who uses Steam every day, but has never installed Galaxy--lol!

Ouch. The Steam trading culture is absolutely caustic, for sure. I try to stay out of that mess these days. And probably very recently got scammed here by a level 22 steam member for 13.34$ game.

Hate those immature, derailing jerks on gog. er, wait a minute.
And a forum that is only discussing games is boring. I like the diversity.

In honesty, I agree with you. Most "gamers" my age are horrible and miserable people to be around.

Gog community on average is more mature than steam.
That does not mean that you will never see idiotic threads pop up on gog about "Hey guys my wife had a baby"
or "hey I got married and am a slave to my wife and divorce court for rest of my life, YAYYY".
A lot of people here live in their own bubble and hate any dissent. Just like real life.

Whenever someone says cheesecake it instantly reminds me of Dr.Sheldon Lee Cooper knocking on Penny's door. :P

Oh hey, good to see that you've discovered GOG. :P In honesty, I agree with you. Most "gamers" my age are horrible and miserable people to be around.
Also, from my experience, the 14-year-olds aren't the really miserable players. Immature? Most of the time, yes. But the toxicity comes more from the 16-20 guys, I think. They've often got more anger and nastiness waiting to blow.

Everything from the reviews to the forums and even many of the developers (shower with your dad simulator? Come on.)
... is this really a subforum where you were expecting mature discussion? O_otessorb
