chezybezy: how safe is using a steam prchase as a gift?
iv just got hold of Sniper Ghost Warrior Gold Edition and purchased it as a gift. so how do i go about using that in a giveaway on steamgifts for gogmembers? ive only ever done it with keys and personal emails to people
It's basically the same.. but with the advantage that you'll know when the recipient redeemed it...

Stooner: It's basically the same.. but with the advantage that you'll know when the recipient redeemed it...
so you don't have to befriend someone to give it ?

SirEyeball: good question I don't want a lot of "friends" on my steam account I haven't put there myself. If anyone has done this please let us know?
Well, when you send it, the person will be automatically added to your friends... but you can delete after, no hard feelings (I think)... ;p

You can email the gift to yourself and then send the gift URL you receive.

I'm not sure whether that auto-friends you with whoever redeems it though. I can check.

EDIT: Yes, this way also auto-friends the redeemer.

I actually enjoyed it, played through twice on xbox (for achievements) and just played it a little on the pc. my only regret is that i couldn't get a decent xbox MultiPlayer match - not tried pc yet!
its fun, if you don't take it too seriously, it has a few moments i grant, but i honestly don't think it deserves the slating it gets!

wtf has happened to my giveaway value it suddenly dropped from 77 something to 30 last I checked was 2 hours ago? all gifts stand as received?
