I didn't pay too much attention (I'm recently playing mostly in games from my GOG library)...

BUT this function Remotely Play Together (allowing to play via internet with other people in local/one PC multiplayer is really nifty (at least from description, I didn't tried it yet - but I'm extremelly tempted to play in Sonic Mania multiplayer). That's something which would maybe even make me regularly using Galaxy, if similar feature would be present as well.
Extremely slow and laggy. Steam itself now freezes and crashes constantly after that update. It's a chore to use.
One thing that really annoys me is that the VR dropdown option has gone. I found it really practical that I could show VR only, without any pancake games. True, I can set a checkmark at VR only, but that shows all my VR, without any of my own categories. So now, I have to just categorize the games myself.

But I really love the box art and banner shown at each game. A lot more appetizing than before.

The ram usage (mentioned by the OP) sounds crazy, though.
I like it. <3
Game covers in library now look like in Origin and in old GOG library (portrait mode).
As for resource consumption - it doesn't matter for me, I need an upgrade anyway.

Beautiful, beautiful library, that I can arrange the way I want. :)

ps: never had any crashes. GNU/Linux user.
Personally I haven't experienced any stability or performance issues yet. RAM usage is all over the place, but usually hangs around 300-400 MB mark and sometimes goes below 100 MB.
Things I don't like:
- always defaults to "main page" instead of last played game after starting the client,
- not enough space for game titles on the list (automatically shows full name when hovering but that's less convenient than just simply having the full name displayed). It happened with some titles in older version of the client, but now it's like half of games in my library.
- a huge waste of space - after selecting a game about one third of the screen taken by empty space (activity and community tabs (the latter thankfully could be turned off in options)).

DadJoke007: I love it. It's so ugly that I'll spend less time scrolling through my games trying to decide what to play.

Steam just froze and had to be restarted. First time I encountered this. Sure, new code always has some bugs, but how hard can it be to code a basic interface like this?

Gabe let his granchildren play with the steam code and redesign the ui it appears.

MarkoH01: Yikes forever!
Script to revert it ... here.

(Thanks to Corvo)
Thanks for the script!
New library UI is unusable.
A big ugly horrible mess. On this occasion UI stands for 'Ugly Interface' It looks like some cheap app off a mobile.
I hear GOGs Galaxy is the same sort of mess but at least you are not forced to use it. I'm coming back to GOG.
Steam can go play with their interface.
Huh? Something happened on steam? I try never to use the cilent/service so i wouldn't notice.

I'll keep that in mind. Though i doubt i'd ever willingly go back for more than anything i have to go back for.

Last time i used steam was to redeem a bunch of keys (HB), as well as downloading some games only to test if they required the steam client, and gave a thumbsdown if they did based on that alone as a review.

I'm a harsh critic.

You know I'm thinking of quitting steam too. It's become some sort of ignorant monster. It doesn't listen to it's customers anymore, it thinks it's untouchable and treats it's customers like money cows, openly.
I just need to sort things out so as not to inconvenience myself in the process.
