I saw it at the theatre, and it still didn't have the same effect on me :P The whole thing just sucked and there's no salvaging it on any screen.

Personally, I consider Chirrut in Rogue One to be as Jedi as they come, no matter what the official line is. He's a blind man who does crazy Zatoichi stuff while fervently chanting a mantra about the Force. He's a Jedi as far as I care. I would even say he's the best Jedi in the whole franchise beyond Ben and Vader in the original movie because his feats are the sort of thing that a non-believer like Han would attribute to incredible luck or trickery, not the increasingly absurd power inflation that's been happening ever since the original film :p

The funny thing is you are now, but back in 1999 I was the lone kid who hated the movie while everyone else was fucking extatic about it :D


He's not a Jedi, but he is a force user. That's one of the many thing I liked about that movie (though a minor one) - I like the idea of there being more to the Force than just Jedi and Sith. And then we got Bendu in Rebels. The Force is there for all sorts of people, beings and groups to explore and use.

Hey, for shits and giggles, I mentioned that I think the underrated Pod Racer was the best SW game ever.

Lets get into it. Why am I totally wrong (as usual)? What SW is the best?

I'm the wrong person to say why you're wrong, beause I find all racing games boring as all hell :P I even hate when I have to race in other games, like The Saboteur.

For me the best SW game would probably be Jedi Outcast (except for the final boss). Or the first KOTOR. It's a bit hard to say since I played Outcast recently, but have not played KOTOR in years.

Actually, at one point Jar-Jar Binks was my favorite character.

Of course, that position now goes to Rey.

Incidentally, I have now seen the new movie, and I did generally enjoy it. One complaint is that some of the sound effects were too loud, to the point where I have a feeling the sound waves were clipped. The rest of the audio, including the dialog and the music, seemed to be reasonably balanced, but some of the sound effects were too loud.

However that's the point. Han and other "lucky" are also tapped into the Force. So if Chirrut is to be considered a Jedi, others are too. ;)

No, I guess it's a little different than even that, Anakin was not even aware he was doing it, it was pure instinct, Imwe has some idea what he's doing. But he's not a Jedi.

I guess we could make it an analogy that Jedi are people who practice religion in a formal way, Chirrut is someone who shares their faith but does not belong to their religious order and kid Anakin is someone with no knowledge of that religion, who just instictivly asks some undefined higher power for help, the way people do in stressfull situations.

Well, Annakin didn't have them, Count Dookula didn't have them, Darth Sideous only got them after over exerting himself using the dark side, and Darth Maul had red eyes, with yellow in the middle, possibly a race thing. I'd say it's not a dark side trait.

Well, I checked the film, and in the last scene before Obi wan chops him in half, it's the standard pigment. Though thinking about it, after the half choppy thing he does then go yellow eyes.
