Simply put, I know that Captain Fwiffo is supposed to have this squeky and somehow cute voice,
well..I either got a problem with my soundcrad or something, or he isn't talking at all..

(nor are the other convo's heard)

I do get the text and all, but without the voices...I'm missing stuff right ?

Anyone else have that prblem ?

Maybe you do hear voices from the aliens (go see shrink plz..JOKE) in this game.

Either way post plz..I wanna find out why they don't talk (the sound, not the text, as such the games fullfills..)

Thank you's peeple...

Strijkbout: The DOS version never was voiced to my knowlegde, I think you are confusing it with the The Ur-Quan Masters, which uses the 3DO versions voices.

This question / problem has been solved by Strijkboutimage
Did they have voices originally?
Or just in the Ur-Quan Masters port/mod?

The DOS version sold here on gog doesn't have voice overs to my knowledge. You must be thinking of the 3DO version. There's a free source port of that called The Ur-Quan Masters.

I was first.
Yeah...I just searched it..

There's 2 versions, original DOS has no voices..
3D version has..

Maybe we could have both versions on here..

But yeah, I figured out what the problem is...

Thanx guys..

(still liking Fwiffo as he kinda panicky speaks..I'm gald in this Star Control I don't have to destroy them,
cuz basically they are peacefull, or maybe just to scared to be offensive..)

Basically, I recommend buying the game here to support the developers, then download and play either The Ur-Quan Masters, which is a free source port of the 3DO version with the features from the PC version spliced in (any feature that works differently between PC and 3DO can be switched in the settings), or The Ur-Quan Masters HD, which is the same port, but with updated graphics. The new graphics stay as close as possible to the old ones, they have just been recreated in a much higher resolution.
