Ah... oh dear, it looks like Police Quest came and went... right after I fell asleep during Sam & Max. :') Poetic justice for camping the sale all day or something, I bet.

I'm new here and I'm not really sure how to navigate the forum, so -- has anyone got a link to some sort of trades forum so I can see if anyone managed to get an extra copy and wouldn't mind trading it? XD;; I can only find GD and game-specific boards when I go to Community top.

Getcomposted: Eye of the Beholder was my first experience of RPG's. Loved it. To the extent I got graph paper and made my own maps. :D Hated that on Level 1? (3?) there was a long passage that alternated between 16 and 18? steps between games...
I still have the disks somwhere although my Amiga is long gone...
Until a few years ago I still had the hand drawn maps that my friend made whilst I played. We made all decisions about where to go and what to do as a team, I was just party leader so to speak and he was the cartographer. We got barely any sleep and finished the game in 3 days during school holidays when we were 15. It was so much fun and reminds me of us all staying up late here helping each other out for a common goal :)

He is no longer with us unfortunately, dying tragically aged 36. RIP Michael W <3

I conjecture that the people who play retro games tend to be an older crowd, and probably more generous, having a little more money to spend.

There were 3 in the series. Not to mention the Lands of Lore games(on here but haven't aged too well due to the graphical choices) by Westwood studios, the same developer.

Yay, free Pid for me. I have to say, even tho I was late to leave the freebie-less club It has been great after that. Just tonight I got Gobliiins and Pid. And I already had the pleasant surprise of Blitzkrieg and Deponia 3.

foxworks: I think Dungeon Master on the Atari ST was my first experience with dungeon crawling. Man I repeatedly got spooked playing that :D

omegaunit: All I remember of Dungeon Master is failure and tanking purple worms while they got killed by doors repeatedly trying to close on them.
Dungeon Master...I remember having so much fun learning the hard way, creating spells and potions(I think?) by experimentation. That game seriously kicked my arse but I loved it!

Yeah, I only ever got to play two of them though. My pocket money ran out... :)
