better out than in.
Your Nelson quote reminded me of another situation where famous words have been used humorously out of context.

Robert Lindsey (Citizen Smith) was in a play during some kind of summer festival in Stratford as part of a Shakespeare celebration. One day between shows he want for a walk in the town and saw a camping shop. It was just an ordinary camping shop, but what caught his eye was a sign in the window which said, "Now is the discount of our winter tents..."

Which I think is pretty clever ;)
This wait is excruciating.

Some leftovers have carelessly been left out and turn rotten long ago.

sedricm: In other news, I posted this in that *other* Spring Insomnia thread and I was sort of surprised by the conclusion I reached... I was just typing off the top of my head, and the more I thought about it, the more profoundly ridiculous (and perhaps borderline offensive?) it got. I even squirmed a little and hesitated to hit "post" b/c it really does get close to the touchy subject of *real* religion, not just silly quasi-internet-esque satire...

Nevertheless I knew I wanted to share it here, on this (far superior) thread too:

(from LaPtiteBete)
Huge thanks to GOG for this epic sales ; I can't wait for next session (hum...my wallet let mee know it disagrees on this point ! ^^). At least I've learnt a new word : "to keane" ;-D

I feel a bit sad to have to quit... (like : "well... what will I DO now ?") and at the same time, a bit relieved. Now I have far too many games ; and so little time to play... But nevermind, I've got a whole life :) "inchallah" !

sedricm: Ha, I know how you feel, LaPtiteBete, I suspect many here will be suffering from "Keane withdrawal" when this actually IS all over, after we've all spent so much time/money and struggled so hard to stay awake to participate...
Hah! who'd have thought it? (I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry that I may have become ADDICTED TO KEANE in these last few days...anyone else there with me? lol!
Hmm. maybe after this is over we can start a support group,
Keaneaholics Anonymous?)

And yet, we probably don't have to worry too much, I am sure with the great success of this insomnia sale, the gog admins (or should I say the holy purveyors of Keane, lol) will make sure that, before too long,
Keane Will Rise Agaiiinnnnnnn, (to deprive us of sleep, food, and all of our worldly cares!)

EDIT: b/c all good cults have to have a resurrection narrative, right? ;) ;)
sigh.
Best Shadowrun story incentive ever.

A cult of insomniac hackers always trying to push their caffeinated limits in shopaholic fits forcing the locks on corporate websites to trigger random sales.

lulz, they must have moved some tents, no way you could walk past that if you even imagined that one day you might need a tent for anything.
Tiny and Big? Yes, these ARE the droids you are looking for!

Tiny and Big - who knew this was a description of the number of sales and the time we'd have to wait for this lot to move?!

I've been laughing my ass off for the last five minutes. Thank you for that, and I also hate you because from this day forth, I'll have to enter every performance of Richard III ten minutes late.
