Tarnicus: That's the rumour going round...I dunno, I've got 207 on my shelf and the last time I finished one of them was back in the 90s, before GOG existed. I thought this was a back-up service for all the boxed copies of games my mother threw out when I was younger? I didn't realise we were meant to actually play them. I think I prefer the chattiness of the forum/gifting game but I'm still not sure how I can "win" it?
And re that game, I just wrote to GOG support about it:

"During this awesome sale, I wanted to purchase a gift copy of Sam & Max Beyond Space and Time for a friend. The "problem" is that as I didn't own the game, your generous freebie system during the sale decided I should have the game even though I didn't want it for me. If you could please change that to a gift, I promise to keep spending far more than I can on your awesome sales to gift copies to strangers to make the world a brighter place. Thanks for your support in changing the world, one game at a time <3"

It's still to come...
finally finished work & gog, need a few hours sleep, so if a few of you can help me get these (if they show up in the next six hours) on my shelf, i'd be happy to return the favour/paypal after that:

American McGee's Grimm, Capitalism 2, Deponia 3, Driftmoon, Seven Kingdoms, Space Quest, and all Sam&Max'es

Good night, and good luck!

vulchor: Not THAT stick... perve.
Why not? I'm always carrying it, never leave home without it.

bluey83: You mean we are supposed to play these games we are buying?!

I beg your pardon, I'm not a gamer, I'm a connoisseur and collector thank you!

Gets 'em every time. ;)

Gnostic: I bought this symphony. I don't know why, but my threshold to buy games seems to be slipping lower and lower the longer this promo goes.............

I would not have buy it under normal circumstance, let me shore up my resistance by reminding myself that I have breach 200 games early this year, after a series of promo by this naughty GOG I have 293 of now, hording an eye popping 100 games in this few months.........

No, not working, it makes me want to breach the 300 milestone even more.........
That's part of the marketing psychology of such a sale. And you are not alone with that effect. :D

xjay73: Well crap! I'm 40... no wonder I can't win any freebies. lol

Now I have to wait until I'm 55 to get 10% at the restaurant (still no freebie, but it'll do)

EDIT: Oh, and by the way, I resent the fact that "30s" is old... what does that say for me at 40? Do I need to chase you off my lawn with a walking stick? lol

ahmedshaltout: I'm 33.. where are my freebies :P

lmao, great post. I'm so thankful, the only thing my mom ever gave away the atari 2600 and colecovision. I would have had a hearattack if she thew away my old boxed rpg games of my old comp. I have a bit of a backlog too sadly. Not much time for rpgs, so mostly just play indie or quick games. Rarely do I have the time for long games anymore =(

And I'm just popping in, turns out my lecture today is in the computer lab.
C'mon "Long Live the Queen", I've only got so much time!
Fair to whom? It wasn't fair to ME *sulks* :P

I didn't want to be fair, I wanted a reminder and laugh to screenshot it as I was so tired yesterday I forgot to :D

bluey83: Well I have to say first taht it was a long time ago I went so a lot will probably have changed and I was only there for a day. It was mainly little shops and bakeries and the like that I got to see as I was with company who thinks that all you do is shop at these places lol. There was lots of grass area and people having picnics and that sort of thing too.

Of course, if said young child likes sparkly Christmas things they would love it, there was at least a couple of shops that were solely selling Christmas things! It was truly like stepping into Santa's grotto!
avatar
vulchor: As far as the Christmas things are concerned, that is exactly the way Frankenmuth is. There is a gigantic year round Christmas village up there. I guess with Christmas being so commercialized as it is in the US that it's a good way to get tourist money.
Yes that's probably true, I do know that the Christmas shops were the busiest places there.
Cant stay up any longer ... And wont be here most of the day tomorrow. Have fun guys !
