Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

turin1988: I agree that they need to do something to handle the traffic better, but 10 failed attempts due to the offer simply expiring really isn't incorrect or unexpected when you consider the limited availability and the number of people going for them.

It's not supposed to be a mass giveaway that everyone is entitled to.

Garran: I think something like "everyone who clicks within a 1-minute window gets entered in the draw" would be a better approach for the freebies.
I can understand why people with bad connections or slow reflexes might prefer that, but for me that would sort of take the excitement out of it.

The way it is at the moment, I feel like I have a real chance of getting free games, even if I fail more than 10 times in a row. If they make it a draw, it's basically out of my hands and the odds seem awful.

istudedinre: I own a GTX 560 personally, and I can say that it has performed excellently. The problems you are experiencing... I've seen them before when I was using an unreliable power supply. In my current rig, I only use a 550W power supply, but I picked one that provides good clean power for both the main board and the extra GPU rail. No issues with this one at all.

xenxander: no I got a 900 power supply so I wouldn't have any issues like that.
I've got a 3-year-old 580 (EVGA) and it works perfectly. Absolutely no problems. I don't trust AMD, but I love NVIDIA and EVGA.

Cardian:
DRM-free? I may have to consider this...
damn....Kingdoms? That is tempting for me... :x
My game appeared, I bought it.

I'm waiting.

I already have everything.

I don't know what I'm waiting for.

WTF?!? TA:Kingdoms has come up TWICE without Don't Starve or Wing Commander coming around. Grrrr......
Huh, Total Annihilation. Well, 300 units at 1.50, that shouldn't take too long.

Cardian: On Origin? Is that abomination still alive?

Xabyer_B: Unfortunately yes.
I like their screw ups though - getting AC4 for only $1.65 in a currency pricing mix up!!!!! :D

Shame I already own the bloody thing, else I would nab this up.

I know most people who were die-hard TA fans didn't like TA:Kingdoms but I actually prefer Kingdoms over the original TA.

I guess at heart, I"m more the Fantasy than the cyborg guy.

I also kinda liked the story behind the campaign, with the 'iron plague' expansion adding to it, with their father and all that jazz, with tech... it was fun.
I have to go in 10 minutes will get home in 30. Please let the next one be a semi keane game! ONLY SEMI!!!!
I need to get home and grab lunch. I promise to eat in front of the screen. Please GOG gods, grant me my wish!
