Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Before Populous is gone, I'm gonna take a look in the fridge to decide what I'll cook for tonight, but it would be selfish to hope for another slow-seller to have time for cooking. GOG-gers have already been burdened by hours of Book of Unfinishing Tales, Thundercrawl and Drawn-out Commanders.

*edit: getting tired, having problems finding the right spelling for burdened

BlueLemon: Anyone having trouble posting?
Not at this moment. However, several members (me included) voiced trouble with posting yesterday.

Stoltverd: You guys remember white and black? and W&B 2? They were good but they started the downfall of god games

xenxander: that's "Black and White" and actually they kinda sucked.

It's a glorified "take care of your pet" game.
True about the name! The years!

But it didn't sucked! They weren't great that's for sure but they were good! They were kinda meh but not bad.
But as i stated, they started the downfall of god games
Black and white was terrible compared to the hype they built for it. as a game it wasn't bad, just a bit clunky in the interface.

Chocobostew: After the 10 second timer expires, 30 random winners are chosen from those who clicked.

As it is now, I am sure people are either sitting there waiting for the offer to "flip" then just start clicking like mad before the next offer even pops up. If it's not the freebie, they just back out of the checkout page.

That, and those who live further away from GOG servers have pretty much no chance due to latency.

Starmaker: 1. Good idea.
2. Yes.
3. Geography only matters in a sense that if you live in Siberian tundra, you probably don't have broadband. (And they're using a cdn anyway.)
Starmaker, run away with me to the Siberian tundra!

mantarrochen: How long until X-Rebirth is coming to GOG?
20 years?

I'm pretty sure Black came before White.

I never played them, but heard a lot about them. I've always hoped GOG would get them, so I could painlessly see what all the fuss was about.

whoschad: Here are all the 101 games that are in this sale. The games in bold have already been listed as "last chance".
Thanks for that, I know realise I'm waiting for nothing! Everything I want, I have!

I'm Free! FREEEEEEE!

Although... La Mulana...

That bear pops up now and then and threatens to throw you some nasty globe it's carrying.

GhostwriterDoF: Black and White 2 was a fun game :P

xenxander: Creature Isle.. just more pets... *sigh* I have both and after a time, I realized they weren't that good, all things considered.
I see them as Molyneux's downfall. I think it was with B&W1 that he started with all the crazy things that would totally be in the final game. And then they weren't....

BeorntheBear: I am just waiting for Jack Keane 3: Keaned Again
avatar
VanZanz: Or Jack Keane 4: Live and Die Keane...
Jack Keane 5: Legacy of Keane

Thanks for the replies :) Seems it won't let me post the list..

I only get that when I try to click on a freebie ... :/

You're right but to be honest it's the only way to get a free game and IMO it doesn't matter how fast internet (or how low ping) you have, it's just a matter of luck. There's not a chance to get a free game just by clicking "buy now" once.
