Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Limblessk9: Are BG1 and Planescape still in the running or did I miss them?
They's still upcoming.

Grombolar: What's with the constant Steam poopery on the forums? I for one won't be touching their stuff anymore (even if they're free), which is why I'm on GoG in the first place. Call me picky/fussy & having standards to stay away from it, if you will...

As GoG didn't have Bleed to offer, bought it from Desura instead of Steamcrap; The length of mah hatredz!
We are just trying to have some fun as we wait for Commander Keane to pass on.
Judging from the speed they get used others seem to enjoy them.
You don't have to participate or use any Steam key yourself and are allowed to ignore such posts.

dedoporno: What?! You haven't finished Chrono Trigger? Blasphemy!!

zlep: Love your avatar! That reminds me... there are cartoons from the 90s I've always meant to go back and comprehensively watch. I think I'll do it between my playthroughs of SNES RPG classics and 80s interactive fiction. I'll only have to live to 385. That should be achievable with modern technology...
That's pretty much what I'm doing right now. Re-watching some old school childhood favorite cartoons.
And yes, Batman TAS is a top-tier cartoon!

groze: Terranigma and A Link to the Past are my favourite SNES games ever. People all over the world can argue all they want that Chrono Trigger is this and that, "one of the best games ever made" and how unfortunate we Europeans are, for not getting it released over here, but, the way I see it, Americans not getting Terranigma is way worse than us not getting Chrono Trigger. Terranigma beats Chrono Trigger any day, on my book.

Fezred: Yes, I think Europe got the better deal out of that. I've played both and Terranigma was a unique gem of a game. It really felt like an epic adventure while being an emotional storytelling rollercoaster and showing off the SNES at its best with some super duper art work. The combat and boss battles were excellent and the towns and town development one of the best examples of its kind on that format and many others. The musical score was perfect too. Really helped it tug at the hearstrings and get its message across.

Remember Bloody Mary? God help you if you didn't do some major levelling up for her.
But that was also the thing I didn't like about the game. When you reached a boss you had to level to that magic level that let you do more than 1 damage. Lots of grinding involved.

Revenile: I've never played the thief series for more than like five minutes, I was too young to get it, and as such have never gotten any of them.
The original Thief came free with a video card I purchased very earl 2000's, along with Decent 3, and some other game I can't recall.

I at least installed Thief, but didn't get very far. At least i know I got a gem of a game for free, back then ^_^ even if I didn't really appreciate it at the time.
And yes I still have it.
10 Dragon Commander games left, get them while their hot! Last chanceeee... ;)

Chebwa: This has been, easily, the funniest thread I've seen in a long time. I'm sad it's ending soon.
avatar
zlep: Soon!!! We've got about 80 games to get through, and they're taking an average of 3 hours or so each. Small children could have grown up on this thread!
By the time this sale is over the new games like Dragon Commander will become Good Old Games and the kids that tried them out will be here, grey-haired and bleary-eyed, staring at a Jack Keane game slowly counting down and crossing their legs to keep the bladder's demands at bay.

Stoltverd: WRONG! unwritten tales is an AWESOME GAME. Just look at the metacritic. And was under 10. And it stood there like what? 4-5 hours?
So, people just don't want to buy Adventure games? Or maybe those who do already own all of them…
avatar
MaGo72: I think most people on GoG already have it:

The Witcher - Enhanced Edition

1. 9R9V-
2. YLFP-
3. 69E9-
4. THVJ

Have fun with it.
Thanks a million! I actually didn't have it.
