Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Kaitu: You're lucky. I got a piece that was close to 1/2 inch long and super skinny that went straight in.

...was actually a good chance for a "that's what she said", but it's too late now.
While looking at that "Last chance" I had a thought... why not improve the freebies section of the sale by not giving the games to those who managed to click and not drop the server down, but instead just getting their requests during, I dunno, 5 or 10 seconds, and then selecting the "winners" at random? That would make more sense, I think.

And another idea is to make a "ready-steady-go" street lights like thing before selling each game, like 5-10 seconds break between sales, to take a breath at least. Red, yellow, green and... click away :)

Certainly gonna last very long

Alien8n: Not quite that painful, just a small piece of glass and it when in longwise and not straight in...

Ouch, I've not had anything that bad since school. Stood on a plank of wood that was hidden in grass and ended up with a 6 inch nail sticking through my foot the entire way. Was a Sunday as well so no doctor's were open :/

Those internet inches?
...Yawn....still Eador.....yawn...

npalsensei: Jack took 5 hours, how long is Eador up?

gbaz69: From what I gather by the reviews: many many bugs and lack of polish on the game (ie: its not finished product, but seems like an alpha version)

That alone is enough for me to AVOID... even when I want every game on gog.com, this one is in my top 10 BUY LAST games.
This was true when they released it. It is fully working game now. And pretty good at that. Lot of people are arguing that the remade graphics is getting in the way of gameplay... which is of course kinda true. I like it though.

Devoidless: I really would of liked to see two sales going on at once. Give us two options from the same pool and run them until the pool is empty. That way, the Keane situation would of been avoided pretty well. However! We very well could of ended up with Keane and Eador chilling next to one another.
Yes, but with this setup they force people to buy copies of a game they don't want so they can see the next deal... lots more money for them... and it's hard to complain about a company putting a product you don't really want on sale. :)
The slogan for this sale campaign and the "Last Chance" warning seems increasingly ironic.

Is it a warning or a promise? Please, please let this be the last ever chance in all of time and space that we have to go through this hell with Jack Keane 2 and Eador: Masters of the Broken Sale.
73 copies left. I'm going out for a smoke, and grabbing some coffee while I'm at it. Then stopping at...somewhere...to grab a snack.

There better be only a couple copies of Eador when I return.

Oh, my God! The EXACT same thing happened to me, also in my school days! It was a rusty nail, I remember. That was painful.
