Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

McDon: Please don't pirate indie games, especially one as good as that one...

gbaz69: I wouldn't be surpised if 90% of these games are sold at same or better % off during x-mas.
I'm all most certain don't starve will be back at $4.99, however, I also don't like this promo at all! Not at all....

And to spend 8 hours to buy a product and not get it, that was his limit, and still didn't get it :/
Shouldn't go blaming the devs, for helping gog.com try something new, its all on gog, all I'm saying.
I feel exactly the same as the previous few posters - I'd HATE to pirate any Indie game but GoG are basically rubbing their genitals in my face at the moment. This coming from someone who bought TWO copies of Metro Last Light at full-price when it was on sale elsewhere, because the Devs NEED the support.

I literally can't afford full price Don't Starve, and there's only so long I can stay awake here. Doing my best...

jpwiseguy: Sadly, I believe the last 124 copies of EADOR are going to be be there for a very, very long time. :-/
I don't think so, it is under $10 and is a fairly large game... however the reviews may slow it down.
NO where near as slow as JK2... shudder and I was one of the ones to stay away during JK2 5-7 hour stink.
I say one hour more tops.
Eador codes are the new beanie babies! Stock up on them now! Sell them to your friends! (That you don't mind losing)
Give them away for christmas!

Just make them go away! *Sobs*

Kaitu: I'm gonna try to grab a copy of each of the less expensive popular ones under $2-3 (Don't Starve, BG 1/2, NWN, Planetscape, etc.) and get gift codes. That way, after the dust settles, I can get them to people who may miss them. Sound like a good idea?

EDIT: That should read in addition to others like Don't Starve.
If you grab an extra copy of NWN for me I could give you a TF2 key for it, since my credit card doesn't support online payments and I can't get it from the promo.

Come on now it's your very last exclusive chance to get one of the very select 117 copies of Eador :P

sirchaox1224: How long you guys think it will take to get through Eador?
avatar
justanoldgamer: 40 Minutes. it's currently 21:22 here, so by 22:00 EST. Adjust with your time zone.
But I'm gonna be on the road in forty minutes... :(
Just finished my 2nd chapter and its STILL on the same sale XD

I hope you're right.

Bovrillor: I agree.

I've waited... 8 hours for 'Don't Starve' and 'Wing Commander 4' now.

I already own discs for the latter. I'm now considering pirating the former and going to bed. GoG is shooting themselves in the foot with this Eador/Jack Keane BS

Briareos262: Try waiting for 18+ hours for Don't Starve. I like went to work twice and had no luck scoring the game. Here is hoping 3rd time is a charm.
That sucks mate. I mean literally waiting though - I've only left the computer to make coffee and go to the toilet. I'm having awful back pain and faceplanting the keyboard, it's just insane. If I'd known it'd take this long to cycle the deals, I wouldn't have bothered - seems mad to give up now though.
I can't believe i grabbed NWN 2 in the first round. I saw it and saw how was it selling (so faaaast) and i was I WILL HAVE A COPY! I mashed my mouse so hard.

This sale is awesome. Makes me feel like the steam holiday sale or summer sale! So exited to see what's next, to buy.

To the pirate guy:
No game deserves to be pirated... That's people work. They worked for that game, they spent time and many sacrificed time with their families to bring those games to you.
one "should" only pirate if there is no way to get it (note that that doesn't mean pirate if you don't have the money) and with the promess to buy it later.
When i was a kid i pirated a lot of games. My parents wouldn't give me money nor buy any game for me so i pirated a lot of games. But now i have work and a credit card and i have spent the last 2 years buying those games. (and enjoying them duh)

You can't go "it's to expensive" or "it's bad", if it's too expensive you can't buy it! If you cannot afford a pair of shoes do you steal them? Off course not! If it's too bad, why would you play it?

Piracy is only acceptable if you are buying the game later and if you can't buy the game by any means (like lack of payment options)

Who just bought 4 copies?

This is the dilemma I have as well, perhaps many on here
Eador:MotBW is selling even worse this time around. It's a disaster worse than RotT but not as bad as JK2.

I guess it is not possible to gift a game once any of its parts have been downloaded? Can anyone confirm?
Looks like I still have a chance to get Brutal Legend. I passed on it the first time and regretted it, then slept through its second round. Thanks GOG.

Can't gift it after purchase. Have to designate it as a gift at time of purchase from what I've been told.
