Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Look at that beautiful horse in the game box cover. Isn't she beautiful?
Yay, all I need now is BG1, maybe IWD1 and 2. Then I am complete!
Special thanks to Coel!

avatarKhaleesia87: So what did I miss?

The last I saw was BG 2 6 hours ago and now it shows LAST CHANCE for Lords of Midnight.

How many last chances were there so far?
This is the list for the last round so far:

Rise of the Triad $7.49
Septerra Core: Legacy of the Creator $1.49
System Shock 2 FREE
Blood (One Unit Whole Blood) $1.49
Master of Magic $1.19
Jack Keane 2: The Fire Within $11.99
Lords of Midnight $1.93

Thanks, fell asleep @ Rise of Triad :-)

Just need Thief 2
Can't believe I was too slow for System Shock 2. I clicked the second it came up. All I got was an error message. : /
avatar
Devoidless: Oh god no, of course not. I thought even 25 was far too many. >_<
avatar
merow: I would buy it if it were 85% off or 6$, because I dont think its deep, interesting or ultra-funny game, just nice and shiny. But there are better adventures/game for half the price
Me too. The first one was an ok game, not outstanding, but decent. Except for having to "acquire" a cracked version because the CD I paid for wouldn't run on Win 7 (Tages, I believe).

Also auugh! I missed System Shock for free! D:
avatar
petitmal: I need to get some shut eye; my vision got squared. Good luck to everyone and a SPECIAL THANKS to Madmurdock for giving me Systemshock 2! Hope to return the favor one day...
Again, you are more than welcome. :) Get a good night sleep!

Let me guess....it took about 5 to 30 minutes for most of the games to sold out and then Jack Keane 2 got stuck in there for 4+ hours?

Fezred: I played it originally on the C64. You can imagine it almost as an unofficial LOTR game. You can play it as an adventure game, fleeing from the armies, gathering a small party and trying to complete a quest, or you can play it as a strategy RPG adventure thingie, gathering armies from varies holds and defeating others in the hopes of marshaling enough forces to take on the Dark Lord's army when he finally rides out.

This version is greatly enhanced for modern PCs. It includes icon driven interface and maps, I had to do it with all memory before and this a great blessing even to "vets" of this game. Sadly the author passed away not too long ago. I keep meaning to play his games through again. There was a sequel too, if you like this.

Beelzebubb: Damn you make this game sound awesome. tempted to buy it.
It is well worth it, I assure you. You have at a minimum two unique play styles and playthoughs to enjoy. It is old school hard. It's probably one of the best LOTR games without even having the official brand and the art style was oddly enjoyable even in the more spartan and blocky C64 form. Very tense throughout. From the start when you are fighting wolves with your party and fearing dragons to when you have a small force and are scrabbling from the Dark Lord's army and recruiting parties. It's almost like getting to play the films where you take the ring to the mountain but then also getting to play again as you gather the armies of Man, etc.
