Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

50 out of 101 games have not been freebies yet. If every game is set to be a freebie at some point, I wonder if there's "super final last chance" round?

Aranos: make some tortilla chips for that salsa?
Daughter has requested fish tacos, so that's what it shall be.

AngryAlien: Random stuff: I am watching Lord of the Rings 3 right now and as always I can´t stop wondering... why the hell did they not use those giant eagles right from the start to fly into Mordor?
Lol, Exactly what I thought.

nijuu: Cool. Doesnt beat JK2's 4-5hour stretch bunch of us went through LOL :)
If they are doubling the games with every round then that means the next round of Jack is going to be 200 copies, be prepared for a new "record"=).

Short version: The eagles straight up did not want to go to Mordor. At all.

rtcvb32: In all honesty, Vanilla D2 was kinda boring after the first 30 hours. I loved a mod called Zy-El, which brought so much to the table and made the game HARD until you got the proper posters, enchantments, etc. Then it was fun again. I think Blizzard doesn't like mod's because there's talent out there that does better for free than they do.

As for D3, because it's online only I will never buy it. Screw it coming out on the PS3/PS4, they already have said their games are part of a 'rich kid club' as far as I'm concerned and I don't play those.

mkess: Same goes for me. I will never ever play D3, because I am not able to pay it via. LAN. This concept is a piece of shit. And it's even worse. Some developers don't even know anymore, that they don't need a internetserver for Multiplayergames. Never heard of LAN, dedicated servers and such things. It's horrible.
D3 is a co-op game. It's built just like an MMO, so it's much harder to make a working pirate server for the game (if I know well, there isn't a working one yet).
Jack Rise : The Triad Case

- probably most selling game in GoG

Yeah, like 20 "10 copies" rounds which will burn the server for good ;P
bring JACK KEANE back plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

did I miss it???
You can say what you want but I don't believe that this guy who's got so much free games did this just by "fastest click".

npalsensei: It's not that it's just online only. It's that retarded thing that it's a SINGLE player game that forces you to play it online... I mean really... I was equally pissed when I found out about the whole online DRM thing that is pretty much everywhere today...

rtcvb32: Same thing with StarCraft 2. The original StarCraft is still going strong in Korea from what I hear with huge tournaments, and I watched someone playing on a laptop up there, they are fast and mean.

No I don't play always-online games unless they are fully MMO's; I've heard games from Aeria if you start to get ahead without actually buying anything from them they will shut you down which takes away any free fun from them.
I still play SC. Love it! Much better than SCII, even if SCII has improved gameplay and controls; it lacks the fantasy and humor of the original.

If you want to see despair, wait for the 200 JK2 copies.
