Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

Impaler26: Yep, the curse of the Keane struck me too. After staring at JK2 for hours during the Insomnia Sale i just had to grab JK1 for a buck. :D

LinustheBold: I got mine as well. I figured I should really give it a whirl, especially since they were so good-natured about the ribbing during the sale.
Yeah, I participated in ribbing them as well - it was all good fun. :) I do like point n click adventure games, but not for $10-40 a piece. The Jack Keane games do look sharp with a 3D engine though and perhaps that is why the higher price, but I've got other 3D adventure games like the Sherlock Holmes one on GOG which is much more 3D and is an arguably more well known and famous series and I got that for a song and a dance. :) $1 is more than a good price though for this type of game, I think up to $3 is a deal. The 2nd game from the trailers just looks like more of the same type of game with nothing major new to offer though so despite being newer I can't justify paying more than $3 for it too. Not that it isn't worth it, but I'd only pay more for a game if I was going crazy waiting to play it with beads of sweat dripping off my forehead, which isn't going to happen for a point n click. Hehehe.

Who knows though, once I play the first game, maybe I'll be willing to pay $20 for the 2nd game? It could blow me away right? :)

Wouldn't that be awesome, though? I hope it turns out that way!

You never know! :) I just wonder if after the success of the first two games if they'll do an id Software and turn Jack Keane 3 into "Jack Keane 3 Arena Deathmatch Edition" ;)

Ha! With the single-player expansion pack Jack Keane vs. the Evil Strogg: Now it's Personal, no doubt.

LOL. Then for the fourth part of the series they'll have "Jack Keane Forever", but that wont be released until 2030. ;o)
What about those statistics? Are we going to finally see them? :)
Hi everyone. Glad to see the forum is still alive :) I hope all of you are doing just fine and enjoying all your new games.
I've kept myself busy playing what I bought during the sale and having a great time doing it.

Maybe we will get to do it again sometime, I really hope so and to see everyone back in the forum.

I wish to you all a Happy Holiday season and will check in with you latter. Take care and keep on gamin :)
This forum topic still lives?!? I'm guessing that insomnia promo really made history.

Yes, isn't it wonderful?

Maybe we can use this same topic for the Christmas sale, so that it lives forever and ever...
Its nice to see people coming back to the old neighbourhood to see who's around.

I'm here because of the great affection I feel for the insanity of those few days last month. They really were something to remember, and made more so by the closeness of this community and the fun/insomnia/elation we all shared.

A very happy Christmas and a prosperous new year to everyone involved, and let's hope the Christmas sale is just as good! You never know...

I have yet to sleep since this promo started. Damn Jack Keane 2 has yet to sell out on gog :(
I missed Thief 1 and 2 during session 3, but I otherwise have little regrets. :-)
I really hope that GOG will do this every year. The Insomnia sale was more than just a sale, it was an event. :) The mere fact that this thread is still alive testifies to that. ^^

By depriving us of sleep, GOG is actually infiltrating our brains and creating a hivemind operated by them! :p
