Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.

Schemilix: I don't recall that. I just remmeber Xenxander weirdly saying, 'okay all you men... or ladies... but there are no ladies'. Like wat. There's bound to be some women. I for one am bio-female, much to my distaste.

Then again I fit the stereotype of gamers don't dress properly. As long as it's washed and not my pyjamas I'll probably wear it.
Wait, did I catch that right? You're a girl?! That changes like...well, nothing I guess?

Really, that guy/girl talk is kind of overdone. :x

xieliming: Despite some insomnia and disappointments (due to the need to sleep) over last few days, this sale promo has been immensely enjoyable because of the great community here.

I'm really proud to have followed and contributed to the community through this journey from beginning to the end (which coincides with the day of my final exam!). Will continue to be an active part of such great community!

Keane to do this again some time :)

QQending: I have an exam tmr. the GOG sale was during my exam period and I still managed to get all the games I want :D glad that there were Keanes during exams.
Haha, true. I do have to be grateful for the Keanes, they bring everyone together and afford those the time needed to sleep or supposedly study/procrastinate. Good luck for your exam and enjoy the study break (or graduation)!

Schemilix: I think it's a natural assumption since most people in this community ARE male. I did get irritated when someone went 'well of course you're all guys'. In that context guys means 'males'. Which is very limiting and ridiculous. People with a uterus do hang around here, thanks.

Tbh the only blatant sexism I've seen is that one troll and calling me stupid for getting offended at the notion that Leisure Suit Larry exists and still sells.

Cardian: I even remember a time where some lady called out for all the girls and got... one reply and that one was a male only talking about the fact that there was no reply. Of course, there are more than one female in here but I dare think it's safe to assume that the majority is male and that nobody is trying to offend anyone when they say "Hey guys." or something. And if someone, indeed, IS offended by that... well, I roll my eyes at people that are always and all too easily offended by everything.
There was stuff before that.. This thread has been going for days.. As I mentioned in my post: there are some women I know who won't admit to what gender they are, or some don't feel like either, or some feel like they are both.. It wasn't just about being called 'guys', that wasn't what I wrote in my post, it wasn't my point... How do some people ignore an entire post?

Edit: I'll just repost what I posted before one time because I still think it's funny. :P

I was skimming through some of the Jack Kean reviews and thought I would share one that I think is funny.

Title: Ambrosia (5 stars)

My vision was bad, I had aches and pains, and my skin wasn't that great. Because of this game, I am not only free of all of those problems, but I have also grown beyond human limitations. Now I can float above the clouds and look beyond the beautiful horizon. All that was ugly is now so pretty, I can cry.
The game itself- it is indescribable. I simply have no words. I am lost when I think of it....

I'm off too, delayed in heading off. I feel like a couple people misread my post. It wasn't an attack on everyone, or for people using 'guys'. Some people were assuming that only men were on the threads, and some others things. I think this community is great, and I wouldn't want to cause upset. When I wrote my post, it was just to give some understanding, it wasn't about 'being offended', but I feel like some have got offended or upset from my post.. Strange that.. I enjoyed the sale and this thread. Hope everyone has a good day or evening!! :)

LAU00050: No you were in perfect grounds of stating your point. I wouldn't be offended if you did -1 me. There are people out there who let slip of this fact, but formally from the female gamers I do speak to in person, rarely is that a major irritant. I'm happy you've called it out, since it would be awful if this turned out like the RPS threads, with moderators needing to address these issues personally. All I can hope is I haven't offended anyone

You are awesome! +100 if I could!! :D It was more about people writing in threads that no women were here, or acting like there were only het men playing games, and some other stereotypes. For the most part, and I really do mean most, gog has been a great community!!! I didn't mean to make it look like I was getting at everyone on here, or making it seem like it wasn't. I just wanted to point it out to a very very few amount and they chose how they wanted to take it, lol.
Oh no, the problem is when people do start believing the lies horrible individuals can feed. Thanks for the vote of confidence, it does take courage to go out and tell a group what they are doing is wrong, even if they are unaware of it (which you've gone out and done). This, and the hardcore/casual gaming debate seems to be played at nonsensical end, but it's because change does need to happen. The Penny Arcade Expo feud didn't occur for no reason.

Anyway, enjoy your games from the sale, and get some sleep :)

Shadowcat: (Mind you, I do feel a little bad for the developers... it's not as if I've played the game, and I imagine there are countless games out there which are far worse than JK2... it mostly just seemed like a case of wrong place, wrong time, wrong price. Hopefully all this hasn't done any real harm to them.)

Yes, nobody says Jack Keane 2 is a bad game, I haven't played it. It was just a little too expensive and the discount wasn't so big compared to the other GOG games.
