Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

MGShogun: What do you mean by resource heavy? Lot of mining and building stuff? *is asking as SC2 player*
avatar
KMJX: Resource-heavy as in it taxed even high end PCs quite a bit xD
Ah gotcha, my bad for misinterpreting you. Whenever I see word resource with RTS games......... I automatically think of making more workers to mining more minerals and building more stuff, lol.

Kaitu: Once Psychonauts sells out they will begin the "REALLY LAST CHANCE" round and start it off with 2,100 Keanes. :-p
I would almost be disappointed if they didn't.
Reaching 50K posts in this thread before the end of the sale would be quite the feat.
I'd just like to point out that you were given every opportunity to succeed.
There was even going to be a party for you.
A big party that all your friends were invited to.
I invited your best friend, the Companion Cube.
Of course, he couldn't come, because you murdered him.
All your other friends couldn't come either, because you don't have any other friends.
Because of how unlikeable you are.
It says so here in your personnel file: unlikeable.
Liked by no one.
A bitter, unlikeable loner whose passing shall not be mourned.
"Shall not be mourned."
That's exactly what it says.
Very formal.
Very official.
It also says you were adopted.
So that's funny too.

As much as I love GOG....as much as I will always prefer to buy from them over any other company....if that were to happen, I would send an email to every single staff member I could find telling them to eat my ass with a knife and fork. There's only so much a person can handle before snapping like a rubber band.
To give a little perspective on the selling rates of games on different rounds, attached is a comparison of selling rate of Baldur's Gate 2 (round 2) to the present Spellforce Platinum (round 3).

Nah, they will announce that gog is closing down, and start it off with 6,200 Keanes.

peanutsticks: I bought my last and final game like 12hrs ago with zero intention of buying anything else...yet here I be. This sale has become a personal crusade and I'm determined to see it to the bitter end.

I...must... cross... that finish line.
I'm in the same boat. This is too fascinating a social process to ignore ;)

That said, how many of us are going to buy a copy of the ultimate game, Psychonauts, as a souvenir? Howza bout it? ;D

nightrunner227: Not a lot, but I managed to stow away a few. What are you looking for?

The_Blog: Basicly Allot, My gog library is still very small. What do you got?
Mainly rpgs. Do you have any of the D&D games?
avatar
legitster: How is Icewind Dale btw? I read the page and it looks like Baldur's Gate, which I enjoyed back in the day :D
avatar
CarrionCrow: WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY less talking, no interaction between party members since you create them all yourself at the start of the game, way more combat. Nice looking, good music, same experience of trying not to misjudge fireballs and cook your party along with the bad guys.
Thanks a lot! Will look into it next sale! Maybe something around Black Friday since that will be a weekend!

Almost everything was (comparably) slow in round 3.
Just woke up. Is Spellforce the last one? Damn, I'm not sure I'll be able to catch THE END.

I'm in the same situation, I bought The Witcher 2 roughly 12 hours ago and that was it for me. I probably bought too many games during this sale, but I still paid less than what 1 new AAA title would cost me.

I'm off from work today (I work nights so I'm on a backwards schedule) so I will absolutely get to see the end of this sale. Barring the unforeseen at the end of the sale, I am done buying stuff.... For now ;-).

One of the biggest flaws of the franchise, is actually that focusing on the RTS side of it would make many missions way longer (and harder) than necessary.
For most maps it's easier to play it as an action RPG by just exploring with your hero party xD
