Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

snip3rfire: Come on, people! This is Lara Croft a videogame icon! I don't give a damn if she's all controversial nowadays, just buy these classics starring her. 3 for 1 at a dirt cheap price, don't even think twice about it - huge value for money!!
avatar
EX-Deimon: Now you're just making her sound like a cheap slut
No need for slut shaming..

Buenro-games: I don't understand why there is a turnip on the top left part of the screen. What it's relationship to this fall sale is, I don't get. One of GOG's many mysteries, like when is Jade going to turn up.
avatar
jamyskis: It's a radish, not a turnip.

Although I'm none the wiser as to why it's there.
looks more like a rosehip than a radish and im guessing it is their cause they are out in the autumn (otherwise known as fall and as this is a Free Fall would also tie in with the autumn coloured leaves

The descriptive Greek name of the genus Raphanus (ῥάφανος) means "quickly appearing"

maybe?

Creteck: Ive pretty much got all the games i wanted. I just wonder if Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver is worth waiting for?
avatar
skeletonbow: I have to admit, I'm not a fan of gaming consoles at all, and ports of console games to the PC are often even worse, but someone gave me a copy of Soul Reaver years ago when it came out and while my first thoughts on playing it were "ugh, consolitis", it only took a couple dozen minutes until the game was entertaining me and I actually really started to like it. It's kind of like a Tomb Raider meets Underworld type game with both TPP action and puzzles to solve to progress and a decent storyline. I ended up buying all of the GOG Legacy of Kain games not long ago although I haven't fired any of them up yet.
Hmm..might just stick around for awhile then.
I have just played Tomb Raider 2013, and the Underworld demo. Is Soul Reaver...kinda like God of War?
For people who've played both games: What is the better way to experience the original Tomb Raider game? The original 1996 release, or Tomb Raider: Anniversary?
Hurry up Lara!

Definiitely Anniversary. I played it and loved it way more than the original
avatar
BastienN: Ok, thanks .. I'm might go kill myself
avatar
snip3rfire: I love the fact that as great as this sale has been (and as much as people loved it to begin with), a majority will be leaving quite bitter about things, and pipped off with GOG.
No no, I love GOG and I loved spending these days with all of you in this forum. Already bought 6 games so far (+1gft) but that's always sad when you miss something.. I bet they left quiet quickly...

But anyway, missing the offer won't make me leave GOG
avatar
pacogens: Anyone knows if Tomb Raider works in mac with wine?
1 works in Boxer.

2 and 3 - probably with Wine, but I'm not sure.
avatar
Lemon_Curry: I'd go with beer.

Or a cheap shot.
avatar
pacogens: I prefer vodka, but that's not the question... XD
no alcohol talk please my head is still about to explode... -.-

Nothing like God of War. If you are looking for bloodshed and mindless violence, look somewhere else. If you want an engaging story and characters - don't pass it up.

Play the original first, then Anniversary :)
With Anniversary being a remake, there are differences. Both are very good though.

Buenro-games: Come on Lara, sell faster

It's actually strange to see Lara with her boobs still intact, before the politically correct crowd whittled them down to a B or C size. Poor Lara.
avatar
BlueLemon: Politically correct crowd? How did they manage to change the size? Or are you just jumping to conclusions?
They always made a big fuss over her boobs. Same thing happened to my wonderful Firiona Vie from Everquest. Sigh.
avatar
shadowknight2814: Sigh... I've missed I Have No Mouth, La Mulana, and Tropico 3... This sale has failed for me; it dragged on too long, and I never even saw those three games the days I stayed glued to my screen. Well, hopefully they'll put them back on sale for the end-of-year sale.
avatar
Muttala: Just to help out.
I got you covered for Tropico 3 for the same promo price, pm me if you are interested
Don't worry about it... I wanted Tropico 3, but it;s not that big of a deal. I'll see what next month brings up.

Hard to say.the remake is very cool and more polished but the original very iconic. Both are worth playing imo.
