Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Velgor: *snip*
I got a copy in a Steam sale years ago. It was glitchy, laggy, and prone to crashing. It also seemed to really require a controller to be playable. I don't have one and all the other issues pretty much turned me off and I uninstalled it.

Devoidless: Talking about laggy PC messes, anyone else have Dragon Age: Origins- Ultimate Edition? If so, does it run really poorly for you as well? I'm hard pressed to get over 20 FPS in the starting areas, and it doesn't really get better after that.
Shouldn't do that. My computer is not really that good and I don't lag on that at all (haven't played it in over a year). Must be some issue with the installation or your directx drivers or something. Definitely should not lag. Also, check on options and reduce some of the aliasing, shadows etc to see if that helps.

golea: I'm a bit concerned about Miasmata now. It has been everywhere this summer.
ive never heard of it

stinusmeret: Woo! I was right :D

Sleep here I come! \o/
Depends on how much a few dollars are worth to you. The Mac+PC sale price is not quite as good a discount as the Fall Insomnia price.. but I think it's only 2 dollars or so difference.

gamingrn: To anyone out there with an interest in American football, the "Game of the Week" between the Broncos and Chiefs just started.

peanutsticks: AC is putting me to sleep. Maybe this can be the thing that revives me for an extra couple of hours assuming the Chiefs D doesnt' turn it into a grindfest bore. *crosses fingers*
That's my hope too after my Browns put me into the same malaise that their special teams unit seemed to be in today.

GhostwriterDoF: I didn't have any technical issues with that game, though I have the physical copy of DA O Ultimate.

Ran it with Win7 64bit, on GTX 450 Geforce Nvidia card.
I'm thinking part of the issue might be running it from a digital version and just really crappy optimization. I can run other games that are a lot more demanding no problem on high settings, but DA:O-UE just tanks so hard. That game never took issues with dual/muti-cores, did it?
Assassin's Creed was so boring. I was blown away for two hours then wanted to sleep riding that fucking horse. AC2 was great and is still my favorite of the franchise. AC3 felt silly, slapped together without a real direction and a goofy story. More point and click games!!!!!!!!

Faeja_Vu: I own every AC game released so far, and I am planning to get AC4. I've never had an issue with crashes or any of the other issues you mentioned. I have had a small handful of times where my net made it so I couldn't play (damn that Ubisoft DRM), but otherwise they've all run just fine for me. And like all my games, I played them with my mouse and keyboard just fine.
It ran pretty smoothly for me (AC1) too. No issues that I can remember.
After 3 days I had to leave in the morning to do something and when I came back both games I was waiting for came and went. That being Age of Wonders and Planescape. I'm not real bummed about Planescape cuz I have two hard copies. But I am really bummed about Age of Wonders. Well, after six hours, I finally stopped pouting and now I'm back in the game. Man, that hurt.
What's the difference in 'AC Director's Cut' here and the 'AC' I have on Steam?

CarrionCrow: If those ten seconds don't contain at LEAST five hundred newly drawn and barely concealed penises? Then it's not up to Disney standards and should be cancelled.
Sounds like CapCom rather than Disney.

CapCom: Let's start on MegaMan Ledgends 3

Fan Support is over 50k people participating and offering ideas

CapComUK: Cancelled because there wasn't sufficient support by the community... Since our business model is doing so poorly from DLC, we're going to push DLC even more!
I need to sleep properly gog... PLEASEEEE
NWN DIAMOND PLEASEEEE
Desmond Miles needs a fucking punch in the face.

You can always try trading for it.

Not sure if I have a copy, the only think I know I want is Sword of the Stars the pit dlc.
