Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Curio: Something went wrong. I bought Planescape Torment and the money left my Paypal-Account but I didn't get the game because an error occurred. It's not in my shelf. :(
What now?
Not to worry. The sudden surge from Planescape caused the servers to hiccup. Just show the receipt to GOG Support and they should be able to work it out for you.

Of course, you might want to buy an extra copy for a friend or for trading....

Infin8ty: Try force refreshing your shelf: secure.gog.com/account/refresh

I had the same thing happen last night and this is what GOG support said to do.
That worked, thanks.

(Now I have an extra gift copy to work with, haha)

trustymutsi: Has anyone else had a failed payment attempt?
Sometimes your credit card issuer will put a freeze on your card if you start making a bunch of transactions in a short amount of time. You can try an alternate form of payment, or contact the issuer to reactivate your card.

Edit: Or it could be a glitch on the website's end, due to high traffic or whatever.

mantarrochen: I remember there was an annoying bug that made the sprites actually walk backwards. Did the mods address that?
avatar
Grabberz: Had the same issue. But easy to fix. If I recall right you have to turn something on or off in the gfx option.
"Oh, that one is easy. You go to the options menu and.. errr... umm. you click the .. err.. something something and then Mouse4 aaand .. uhm.. then you click... i mean then you go and .. err..."

Put it in your cart and hold it there at the payment selection screen if all else fails. Then when it dies down some try to pay for it.

You mean "Updated my credit card balance."

Grabberz: Alert!

Remember to use Mods with Torment - highres, fixes, quests and more. There is a topic in the GOG forum that can help you.

Makes the game even better. Highres is a must

Zeeaire: I liked it much more without highres, killed the atmosphere for me.
Same here.

Buenro-games: Is Thief 3 suppose to be the best of the series or Thief 2? I was really only planning on going 1+2, but if it's the best one I might as well get 3. Supposedly it's coming up next.
Thief 3 is not bad but it's not better than 1 and 2. The first 2 games are stellar in terms of level design and... basically everything :)
It's so interesting, with Planescape at 100 left I think Better get ready, it's almost done, and with many other games at 100 left I go to bed figuring it'll be hours.

Funny ol' world.

foxworks: All gone in under 20 minutes!
Seems Torment do not *endure* a lot... :-)

I have to say the zombies suck in Thief Gold. I hate them, those danged things....

Bwahaha! Or paypal, in this case.

I already have it... one boxed copy and one here. But I had to get it again as a gift, since I know some folks who haven't played it yet.
