Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

I definitely like this promo, I think it was a good attempt at something different. However, it is not without it's flaws. Not sure if a timer would work well or if it would be better to offer games in groups of five at a time. When one of them sells out another takes it's place so the five games on offer aren't static or necessarily predictable but are constantly changing and people aren't necessarily having to wait an extraordinary amount of time for one title to get done. Otherwise, GG GoG!
This is no longer the insomnia sale...new title is the Zombie sale, it just won't die

EX-Deimon: The current list of games remaining doesn't look too bad but I do worry when Lucius and Omerta come on, though. I hope they don't get insane amounts of copies. 300 each should be enough, yes? Yes, I hope so.
avatar
JohnnyDollar: How about 100 instead, or better yet, save them for last? :P

If GOG does this promo again, they REALLY need to use a timer to go along with it.
I just hope the two games I'm after show up before those two do. After that, adios suckers! Hahahaha!

I have a feeling I'm going to continue to be here a while. :(
So I've been gone for a nap. Have I missed anything? Think it was an Ultima game last up I saw.

tinyE: If Jade shows up PM me. I'm going to try to stay out of the forum today, I'm starting to annoy even myself in here.

DrRoxo: K, you got it!
XD Only if it's a problem. I won't be posting as much but I have nothing better to do today other that watch football and monitor the home page. :P

Either way, the sale is a huge success, it's still bloody going! It's a nice change as well, makes you appreciate your purchase a bit more since you battled out for it. And by "battled out for it" I mean fighting back the drowsiness and trying to grab a free game.

McSpain: No... YOU buy FEZ now!
avatar
Raverok: I already have it but on Steam. It's not that much fun to pay for it twice
Same here. Guess this explains Phil Fish buying all those copies right now. One at a time. Cursing all gamers ;P
I'm probably going to miss some of the games I'm waiting for.... I have church in an hour and I sing today.... Ugh. Everyone is going to hate me for this, but I hope it's 666 copies of Lucius next....

Well, unfortunately I haven't missed FEZ.

I think it's safe to say, the biggest Keane in this promotion, is Round Three here.

Yay, we could have Jack Keane 2, Omerta, RCR, Thunderscape and Book of Unwritten Tales all at once!

CorranHorn: Yes I remember that Cruise used a new way of doing animation, I was very impressed by it=).
Played Future Wars?
avatar
picchioabbio: Cinematique was called. It was later used for Cruise for a Corpse & Another World
No I missed this game from Dolphin.
Yes that was the name for it, Future Wars was a good game to bad it´s not for sale anymore (afaik). Played Operation Stealth? Another good game from Delphine Software, they did so many good ones like Another World and ofc Flash Back=).

I gave up on getting a freebie before I started. My main annoyance has been waiting around the last two days to BUY The Witcher 2 only to see it flash by my screen as a freebie while I wait, still, to buy it.
I missed it the first two times it was up do to RL stuff.

You sing in church while we go to hell with 666x Lucius Keane. Sounds fair.
