Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Infin8ty: Nah, I beat it quite thoroughly with keyboard. It's doable. It may be a bit harder, but I'm a PC elitist, so... yah...

mantarrochen: I dont know I always confuse UP and JUMP, jumping and attacking are also tricky, dont get me started on down attack (should try that extra option maybe) and in general timing is very difficult this way. I wish the devs would have taken a little more time to implement mouse&keyboard.
Well, I do play and do quite well at Super Meat Boy with the keyboard also, so I'm somewhat good at platforming and all that. Having a mechanical keyboard helps too.

Infin8ty: What? Text-mode graphics are amazing!
Graphics? You young'uns and your newfangled graphics. Back in my day we had nothin' but text (uphill, both ways), and we were grateful for it! (Even as we got lost in the Colossal Cave during our Adventure...)

Kaitu: My wife and I JUST started watching from the 2005 reboot. Two episodes left in the 9th doctor season. (There's something inherently geek-rotic about hearing her say "TARDIS".) :-)

tobias683: It is just a great show. I know some people who are purists (my dad) who refuse to watch the new stuff because it's not the old stuff.....I know, it makes no sense. The direction they have taken the show since rebooting it in 2005 is just phenomenal. I have cried more than once watching that show. I'm not afraid to admit it. It's very rare that a TV SHOW will cause that reaction in me. Most movies can't even do that. It really is top notch tv.
Yeah. We were both blubbering at the end of "Father's Day" (when they go back to see Rose's dad).

truhlik77: Add one more for Planescape and your poem will be complete :)

DukeDuvel: As our unease begins to forment,
do hear our heartbreaking lament,
and be the one, Planescape Torment...
Awesome how many bards are among us:) also increased your rep.

As I recall, weren't these two of the first games with a 3D dungeon?

Oofles: Nameless ones wait for chance events
Doing actions they soon resent
As they suffer for Planescape: Torment

I cheated and had to google for torment rhymes.

truhlik77: Nice. You really make waiting more pleasant. +rep for that.
O my eyes, a glassy sheen
O my captor, a computer screen
But I have No Mouth And I Must Scream

I'm helping!
Oooooh! I missed the slim chance of getting the Witcher 2 free when I was sleeping... It´s the bad part about freebies I guess. You press so fastly that you get games that you don´t want that much but you miss games you would have prefered.

Anyway, I look at it as a chance. If you are interested in a game (any game) even just a little, there´s a chance you will pay for it either at full price or at a discount. If you are not interested at all in a game, usually you won´t pay for it, but if you got it for free on your library, it´s easy for you to go and try it, and maybe it´s a game that you will love it. And maybe it´s a saga or some kind of subgenre.

For example, I wasn´t interested in Battle Isle untel Battle World Kronos came out and I discovered by chance that it was a game like Advance Wars, a saga I love. Now I´m interested in both the Battle Isle pack and Battle World Kronos. As I´m currently playing other games, I will wait after the Christmas sales, and if they don´t get discounted, I will probably get them at full price.

I kind of miss those good old fashion text adventures.
yeah i liked the survival aspects of it, and how every kill made you feel like you were taking a step closer to finishing the game (since each enemy you defeat raises your stats and doesn't respawn). wish from would make a single player game with more the single player survival aspect in mind instead of multiplayer oriented like the souls games.

wasn't really all that hard though. Getting the hang of the game and surviving long enough to reach the first save point was murder. after that it was more managable besides the fire world with all the lasers and berserkers trying to break your equipment through walls. and then there was that stretch after the first floor of the water world where you couldn't get to the healing fountain but that was mainly annoying because of trying to repair your equipment from all the acid damage. Last stretch of the game was pretty easy since you were overpowered by that point.
Hallelujah! Another drop finally coming soon!!!!!!
this next one has to be good 'cause it will be the last for the night for me - unless it is a very fast seller.

Or we played board games and card games, where the cards rarely had magical powers.

and we went outdoors a lot more often...
