Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

groze: I'm not taking one Inquisitor for the team, like I've done with other games before. Reminds me way too much of Divine Divinity and that game scarred me for life, it's way too boring, grindy and plain uninteresting. This looks like a Divine Divinity clone on my book.

wanderlust76: Wow I disagree Divine Divinity is a decent game. A lot of people don't like it because you can walk out of the starting town and get owned. It's too hard for some people.
Yeah, I do not know what he is talking about. DD is nothing like Inquisitor. DD is one of my top ten all time favorite games.

Faenwulf: Bad Italian.
Don't beg for Rep. Thats baaaad. Just play games and stop caring about rep.

Ungunbu: don't dare even think about italy
Why not? I like it.
I even learned a bit of Italian (completely voluntarily because I like the language), altough I probably forgot most of it.

northern7: BG2 enhanced edition: http://www.baldursgateii.com/

Chevette: In my opinion it's better to get the original here and mod it up with the widescreen patch and such. At least, it was that way with BG 1. Cheaper too.
well, i am playing through the enhanced edition of BG1 and must admit, i like it better - if nothing else, i like the ability to zoom in the screen.
...the new BGII enhanced edition is too expensive atm.

Divine Divinity does not have anything to envy to Inquisitor.

puviani: Well, I give up. GOG can just have a regular sale on The Real Texas and Shadow Magic if they want to dig into my wallet.
avatar
Ydrisselle: The Real Texas already went up, you missed it.
Yup. That's what made me give up. :)
Holy crap, didn't even know BG2 Enhanced Edition got released yesterday! Time for me to finish up the rest of BGE then!

I agree with you. Divine Divinity was such a gorgeous game, the visuals were very nice and ambience as well. What brought it down, rightfully, was its lack of personality. The hero was too generic, had no real charisma and neither did the story have any gravitas. Kind of like what happens with TOEE. But I really loved the look and feel of that game. Divine Divinity 2, I want to give it a try again, since I didn't even leave the starting dungeon and tore the disk out of the drive.

I got a question, would it be better to have BG1 and 2 Enhanced Editions..or BG1 Complete and BG2 Complete? I have played neither. I got BG2 complete on here but I'm waiting for BG1 to come thru.

I thought there were mods that already did that? Maybe not. Regardless, I personally find it super hard to throw down that much dosh for a game that I already own. I know they added some knew things (mainly bugs), but not enough to command that price.
I'm more than happy with my modded BG games and TuTu.
so what games are left for "last chance"??
At least Inquisitor is moving at (compared to Eador, BoUT, Thunderscape, Divinity and RCR) a lightning pace.

Naa, don't worry.
I really don't care in which country a person is born. Human is Human and Asshole is Asshole. Has nothing to do with ethnicity or such.
What happened? I read a couple of pages and no Jack Keane?

It's not a bad game by any means, far from it, just not my cup of tea. I can understand why so many people love it, it's just not for me.
You probably used a couple of the broken, overpowered skills that have been well identified. :D If you play non-exploit Divine Divinity it's way harder than a number of other RPG's. You can get rocked in the first dungeon very easily and some of the the Orcs outside the first town can one shot you. THis game just doesn't really remind me of DD the graphics are better in DD for starters and DD has a lot of open world exploring you can do.
