Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****
****NO IT'S NOT WHAT ARE YOU DOING YOU CRAZY PERSON

shadowknight2814: Going by the sale time of, 5.5 hours? for Kean for the 100 copies on the second day:

7 hours at school=1.27 Keans
8 hours at work=1.45 Keans
1 hours in traffic-.1818 Keans
avatar
Shendue: Yeah, that scale seems somewhat less arbitrary then mine. Still think that the Keaning was over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAND Keans, tho.
Well, if you play a JRPG, and you hate JRPGs, the Kean level for 100 game hours would by 18.18 Keans.

Dear god.

The Keaning seems to be expanding by some strange dilation of time and space caused, no doubt, by itself.... it was actually about 4.5 hours.

wackyanne: As for me, I wish they'd made more movies out of the original novels... Like Splinter of the Mind's Eye (another kiss between Luke and Leia! before even good ole' George knew they were siblings), but more importantly, the AWESOME Han Solo and Lando Calrissian trilogies. I stupidly lent out my copies to a friend/coworker, and never got them back.

I'm not sure anyone should be allowed to revisit a story twenty years later. I've yet to see an instance where it came out better.
avatar
CorranHorn: I guess you have read I Jedi then=)?
Yes I agree, so many good books that I would have loved to see a movie adoption off. Speaking of George Lucas, Indiana Jones 4 was a major disappointment for me. He should have based the movie on Fate Of Atlantis instead, such an awesome game=).
I liked the Zahn novels, hell I bought the first twenty novels in the 1990s, all kinds. But in the end, it got to be too much. I only kept the anthologies (Tales of the Bounty Hunters, etc.) and the couple of old school novels I still had left. Still have the SW comics I picked up that decade tho...

Khaleesia87: Nope. But I am Jack Keane's grand granddaughter-in-law. Within this promo he got enough time to have kids, see his kids growing, get a grandchild, see his grandchild growing and having a child who grow up and got married to me.
avatar
RandomJC: So...can you get me his Autograph, or is he dead? Cause if he's dead, I'll just take a broken off limb, or a finger or something. Whatever will break off easiest.
Nah he is still alive....it's hard to get rid of him just like those games in the promo.

He is like 500years old atm, but looks like he got some kind of eternal life potion...

He thinks to be a celebrity and if I ask an autograph for you he will surely start to act like "OMG I'm so awesome ppl can't resist me" soooooooooooooo I will make him sign some fake documents or something and then I will send you the paper with his sign, is that ok? =P

Deva: Wasn't Shadow Man on the Dreamcast? I seem to recall playing it on that.... but too many games over the decades is clouding my memory...
It was multi-console, but yes it was on the Dreamcast.
If Cognition: A Jack Keane Thriller goes up soon I'll probably take the chance to go to bed.

I was just going off what other users reported, since I didn't time it myself.

I'll still argue my scale, by virtue it FELT longer than real time. Because, you know, Kean.
Just to announce that my For The Team copy of Shadow Man is now downloading. I hope this turns out to be at least enjoyable. LOL! Well, people seem to think it's similar to Soul Reaver, and I love that title.

It wouldn't be the first time that taking one for the team would've paid off, as well, since AquaNox 2 (by Nordic Games, of Jack Keane 2 fame) turned out to be quite an amazing title.
I have just noticed that our experiences regarding the sale system may have been GOG's brilliant method of relatively painless introduction to shopping in Soviet bloc, while it was Soviet.

tobias683: I'm confused....are we measuring distance or time?
avatar
gscotti: According to some interpretations of special relativity, the two are interchangeable.
So it's no longer a measurement but a quantum property?

ALH: Yeah.Been awhile but i remember enjoying it.Think Tron aficionados should have a good time with it!
avatar
CorranHorn: They really did catch what I liked about the first movie, the second one was ok but not on par with the first one,
Yeah Tron 2.0 was a worthy adaptation.I also enjoyed the film Tron Legacy(not as memorable as the original but still worthwhile) and also played the PS3 game to that film. Also pretty decent.Tron is just a very cool idea and platform.
avatar
Fictionvision: Considering how fast Shadow Man is going (Who btw isn't the real Shadow Man, he came in the Mega Man game after my avatar) I would like someone to help me make a decision and pick a number, either 1 or 2.
avatar
Devoidless: 1

Because it's a prime decision.
That's odd. 1 isn't even prime.
Random thought... What do you suppose it'd take to make a Keanception?
