Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

nijuu: Question unlike most of the other games, i dont think i saw a single comment about someone waiting to buy Jack Keane 2 during this sale....did anyone come to this sale waiting for it to turn up?
I saw a few people saying they wanted it, not sure when, though. It's all a blur!
Sucks that Don't Starve took so long. I've got to go to bed in a couple hours, and I will likely miss some games that I want while I sleep.

Some of us have responsibilities that prevent self-induced insomnia :p
I remember I spent a lot of hours playing this game back then, it´s actually quite good, as much as I remember it, and 2-3 dollars is not a bad price, maybe the timing to show up right "now" when we are expecting better stuff, maybe that is the problem :P
Is it too late for Rogue Legacy?
LOL. I went to take a 30-minutes nap during the Don't Starve sale thinking it would have lasted more then an hour but i overslept. I woke up more then 3 hours later and the game was STILL on sale. Talk about Jack Keane. I think they really were optimistic about the numbers this time.
This doesn't SEEM like another Keane....perhaps it is safe to stay awhile?

Kaitu: Don't forget the wonder that was Thunderscape/Divinity. Got a solid night's sleep in during that 9+ hour train wreck. :-p

(Divinity was just too expensive for a sale like this though.)

nijuu: Has Eador has its final chance yet?
Thank God, yes. 4+ hours yesterday. BoUT took a few hours and then the TS/Dovonity debacle. total of like 6 games moved in 16+ hours.
I really need to watch Game of Thrones. is it on Netflix?

It's just moderately Keaning.
Damn you GoG. Where is my Thief 2. I got 1 and 3, so now I need 2, I can't play them without the middle one. And I refuse to just play the dozen other games I got through you all in the past few days to pad out until the inevitable sale that will have the Thief series.
If I don't get my game now, I will never buy from GoG again.
Harumph.

groze: 250 Shadowmen and I might just grab one.

bew1977: Why stop at 1?
I already bought 2 Book of Unwritten Tales, 1 AquaNox 2, 1 Anodyne and 2 Thunderscape 'for the team', I'm only getting a single copy of Shadowman, sorry.

[EDIT] I bought a few more that I was actually interested in, the ones mentioned above were bought merely to move sales along whenever I thought I wouldn't having that game.

PincushionMan: Is it too late for Rogue Legacy?
Yeah, it had its last-chance run several hours ago.

Oh wait.It has already been on.Got confused.Sleep deprivation.
It's Friday night, right? I can stay up and sleep in tomorrow, right?

When I first saw this sale, I didn't know why it was called Insomnia. Now I know all too well.

worlddan: How bad was Jack Keane, really?

Jack Keane was so bad that it is the ONLY game whose numbers were cut between the 2nd and 3rd round.

2nd round, 100 copies.
3rd round, 25 copies.

enough said...

nijuu: It took them 5 hours and lots of comments and dev visiting the thread to do it for the game in the final chance..
Honestly, I would be willing to give JK2 a shot. Just not willing to spend $10 on a Leisure Suit Larry/Indiana Jones Mash-up.
