Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Did La Mulana already went by this third time?

saruchan: All right guys. I want to preface this by saying that while my motivation to post this is because of the drag in the sale, it's still absolutely true. I just don't usually gush to strangers -- I'm a lurker and haven't even posted here other than in this thread. But since I de-lurked already earlier...

Don't Starve really is a fantastic game. It's got a quirky and charming art style, nifty sound effects, and you can make friends with anthropomorphic pigs and fight nests of spiders with them! I paid full price for this game with absolutely no regrets, have logged nearly 60 hours in it, and haven't gotten bored with it. It's occasionally frustrating, but it's one of those games where death is expected and a learning experience, so that isn't really a surprise. It's actually less frustrating than I expected it to be when I got it.

The shortest version? For $5 US this is a steal. If I had spare cash I'd be buying copies for friends and probably an extra for myself since my copy isn't on here and it's nice to have a backup option.

fpichardom: I truly agree with you, this game is awesome and I can't think of any survival game that can be compared with. I think this sale is so slow not because the game is bad but because most of the people have bought it already. I mean I bought it full price on Steam and I just couldn't resist to have a GOG DRM-Free version.
You are both right. I bought it as well, twice! One year ago when it was still beta and now again for 1/3 of the beta price. It is great fun, but also very addictive. I played it more than 80 hours.
I might pick up the Thief games if they show up. I'm not itching to get them, but I might as well buy a few copies of each.

Nope.

Schemilix: Yep, looks like another quick one.
Hmm...maybe not. :/ :D

MGShogun: How hard is this game? What controls is being used for this game?

Because........ frak, I'm willing to bite the bullet.
Do eet! I was eaten by the spiders on my first try, but I'm hopeful the anthropomorphic pigs will come save me. Send in the pigs!
Don't Starve really is a good game; it's a shame to see it floundering like this. You'd think, with all their sales data at their fingertips, that GOG would be able to do a better job of evaluating demand for a game.
Don't Starve is an open world game where you move around in any direction but 2D to forage for ingredients/supplies that you can use to build increasingly elaborate/necessary tools/traps for survival necessary to gather food and keep light going at night. It's fun so far.
Don't Starve is taking too long to sell
off topic, but I was just browsing the masm32 website and saw this at the bottom: Not for the faint of heart. If MASM is beyond you, take up server side scripting.

bwahahahaha!
Sigh, while Don't Starve been on sale I have managed too watch two episodes of Pokemon Orgins, grabbed a snack, and brushed my teeth. This is gonna take awhile aint it?

As hard as you want it to be, the difficulty is entirely customable and it is solely mouse driven at the exception of the space bar.
I really loved this game, put something like 60 hours into it :)

Yeah, it truly is a good game. I played the hell out of it myself. And, while I have enjoyed this whole event, I hope GOG thinks things through a little bit more before doing it again.
Just wondering, how much is Don't Stare on the Humble Store, I can't access that website for some odd reason.
I am expecting it to be at the same price but I am still curious to know what it is set at over there.
