Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

Don't Keane :(
Are you looking for stuff that runs natively in Linux or with Wine? Surely the game binaries won't work in Linux natively no matter what you do to them. How would that work?
Don't Sell
My housemate's watching Jurassic Park. Suddenly reminded of operation genesis; man that was a good game. Too new for this site?

justanoldgamer: I have bought Don't Starve on steam a few weeks ago. I played one game and was not able to do anything except walking around. Is that normal for the first game? I think I might have been able to pick some plant or flower too.

I was only using the mouse, does it uses the keyboard too?

Despite not being able to do anything I also bought it here during an earlier round of this sale because I'm sure the problem is me and not the game.

CorranHorn: Can you chop down trees?
You know what? I just noticed the icons at the left. I guess I had tunnel vision the first time. Off to find some twigs and flint.
avatar
Revenile: Nobody? Well thanks anyway, thought it was worth an ask.
avatar
foxworks: I missed it, what were you looking for?
I had just asked if anyone could keep an eye out for ultima 7, privateer or thief gold and possibly get it for me since I have to go away for about 2-ish hours, just in case one of them pops up before I can get back.
Hey guys this is not really a bad game check out some reviews to pass the time and maybe you might pick up a copy :)

Buenro-games: First real rogue/stealth game ever.

mudd1: I really enjoyed Metal Gear Solid. Is it safe to say that I'll enjoy Thief, too, then? Or is that not a sensible comparison at all?
If you enjoy the hiding and creeping part of games, then you definitely will like it. When Thief came out, the setting was exactly like all other major fantasy games with that BIG BIG exception, the focus was on the rogue abilities of a thief character. Really groundbreaking at the time and much loved.

Fictionvision: Don't Sell
The game listened to you. ;)
I suppose that it's too much to ask for the lame Jack Keane mashups to stop?
I was there, it was painful. Didn't want to buy it, didn't want to sleep, didn't want to miss something I wanted, and we didn't know then that there'd be three chances for each game....

Seriously, though, out of nearly 200,000 posts, I think Jack Keane jokes account for at least 25K :/

Elinnea: Oh dear, I was thinking of starting up one of my new games while waiting for the sale slowdown to unfreeze itself, but now I'm paralyzed with indecision. Too many good choices, all of a sudden!
avatar
Navarreitor: Do something. Sleep, play a new game, this is going to take at least 30 o 45 minutes,
Now that you mention it, I probably should get a bite to eat. I might even have time to cook something at the rate this game is going. The irony is not lost on me that the game is called Don't Starve.
Got suckered into this sale when I checked GoG on Wednesday and saw Planescape for 1.99, started buying it but it was finished by the time I entered my details. I've gotten Theme Hospital, Reus (already played it today, super satisfied with this buy!), I Have No Mouth, Book of Unwritten Tales, Startopia and NWN2 meanwhile but still want that Planescape! Hope it doesn't appear in the next 6 hours that I'll be sleeping. *.*
I had classes, did I miss Nexus: The Jupiter Incident or Alpha Centauri?
So what do you reckon were the top 10 slowest movers?

Carl13: I've only just thought to do this, so here's an updated version of the list posted earlier of games yet to come in the Last Chance round. I've only done it from memory so if anyone sees one that's on there but has already gone and I forgot it, let me know and I'll edit it out. :)
