Deals so good, you won't want to fall asleep.
You remember back when you used to walk into a store, browse the shelves, pick out a game, and then buy it--all in the actual real world? We don't know about you, but most of us at GOG.com have had our limbs atrophy to small vestigial nubbins since all of our shopping happens online these days. Of course, one thing that sometimes happens in real world stores with real world goods--particularly when they have a good sale--is that they run out of stock. Usually that means that the deal was so good that they couldn't keep up with demand.

Well, in the digital realm, this is usually pretty rare. How do you run out of stock on digital games, short of entropy devouring the universe? Well, we have gotten 101 games that will be on sale on the front page of GOG.com, but the discounts are so high at the moment that we can't just sell an unlimited number of copies of these games: we are only able to sell a few at these discounts--up to 80% off--and once they're gone, they're gone.

So what games will be on sale in our Insomnia promo? Bestselling classics and new games alike. There will also occasionally be some free games in super limited numbers (like, 20 or 30 copies)--if you're fast enough on the trigger finger to pick 'em up, that is. The deal will run from now until we're out of "stock" of games for the sale, and games may show up more than once. So it's time to bathe in a tub of coffee*, dip some espresso**, snort an energy drink***, or do whatever else it takes to stay up so you don't miss out on the best deals on fantastic games on GOG.com since summer.
*This is probably not a good idea
**This is definitely not a good idea
***This is totally safe, though****

silentp263: Ok, cause everyone said not to buy Diablo 3 (PC), that I should play PoE or TL2 instead. Which of the two do you think are better?
Why not? Diablo III isn't bad at all. It's just not as good as (and fairly different from) Diablo II, so if you expect something akin Diablo II, maybe you should play TL2 or PoE indeed. But don't dismiss it as an horrible game. It's overhyped, yes, but it's enjoyable if you don't focus on the name too much.
And it's gonna be even better now that they'll finally get rid of that stupid auction house with the upcoming new patch.

Both are good games, better with friends. TL2 has plenty mods, PoE is of course free so well worth a try

Maybe not, but you have a bunch of cool games. Unless you just spent food/rent/utilities/internet money on them, it evens out. =)

nijuu: What potential slow burners are left?. Retro City Rampage, Cognition,Wargame (depending on quantities i guess)
Omerta.

Cardian: Blackwell Bundle for 3 bucks is actually a great deal. I really enjoyed the series.
avatar
Shendue: Is it? I took a look at the comments and most people praise the game atmosphere and design, but also point out that the puzzles are easy and short. I've been playing adventures since the very first King's Quest, so i find most of the new ones just too easy and quick to solve.
I have to admit that in this day and age that became kind of a plus for me. I rather enjoy a short but sweet adventure story than something that takes forever. I just don't have the time anymore. But those people are correct, the games are not that hard compared to the classics they mimic. If that is a downside for you, this might not be the right thing. Especially if you've dealt with your fair share of puzzles. Still, it's well crafted with good stories and great characters and that's more than many longer adventures have to offer these days.

Exactly. gogbot has it in their list of games that are still left to come.

Xiko91: Seriously? You can't compare GOG with Steam with a game that GOG doesn't even have like Borderlands 2. For the whole DLC thing you should complain to the developers of the game, not Steam. I bet that if GOG had Borderlands 2 they would have DLC as well.
avatar
CarrionCrow: I wasn't complaining about Steam there. That was me just bitching about the feeling of incompleteness that game has when it has so many other parts, some of them pretty integral to full enjoyment in my opinion, that you have to pay more and more and more money for. Comparatively, I don't ever buy a game from GOG and think to myself, "God, now I have to shell out X amount extra just to feel like I'm not paying for a partial experience.
Looking at the two, it's a pretty big motivator for me to be here buying these games, rather than being there and digging through all of that.
Yeah but nowadays DLC is in every major title. Normally Steam sells the full pack with DLC when doing sales. I got Magicka with a bunch of DLC for like $10 on sales.

Welcome back nijuu. I think Omerta is still out there... *shiver*
You could do a Ping that is showing packets losses, that would show you if you could be having problems with your connection. To do this Type "ping www.gog,com -n (n being the number of times to repeat the command)". To stop CTLR C.
