Dark_art_: What king of GPU were you using before the Rx570?
MSI GTX460.

avatar
Dark_art_: Edit: I believe there was some compatibility issue with old core2duo/quads (socket 775) and some newer GPU's but I used my Rx480 on both a phenom x4 and a core2quad q6600
I watched a video on youtube with a system like mine and it works.

Ranayna: So, the system works with another graphics card. Do you know for sure that the GTX570 is working?
No, I'm not, but I haven't another pc to test it even if seller tell me he would do with a video to prove it works.

avatar
Ranayna: If the GPU has an extra PCIe 6 or 8 pin power connector, have you plugged the PSU in?
There are two 6pin connectors, and I plugged both of them.

avatar
Ranayna: Does you PC beep when you switch it on? A short beep means everything is ok (so far), but any other beeping will mean something is wrong.
Yes, it does with the 9800GT. Two short beeps with the 570: one longer than the other.

Themken: A 'buzzer' is a word for the tiny pc speaker that may or may bot be present and gives code beeps, one short being no problems found. Same codes can also be given with a tiny screen with a number on it or some small LED lights.
Ok, I didn't know the english word for the speaker.

Themken: Try that graphics card in another system. It is probably not 100% alright. I hope it was VERY cheap, preferrably under €50 as it is not worth more even if working.
Unfortunately I haven't another system to test it.

I call it speaker but I think some in North America use that word.
r u sure it's working before u made the purchase? could be faulty
Hmm, i assume it's a long beep followed by a short beep?
That is a rather generic indicator for a mainboard fault. So either you have some incompatibility, or the GTX570 is broken. No way to be sure though without testing the card in another computer.
Maybe try removing the GPU, blow out any hair or other dust in the socket and try reseating it. I once had to do just that, remove a hair, for my RAM.

Yes first long, second short. I'll try to find a way to test the GPU.

If it is some dust or hair, even the 9800 shoudn't work; but it works without problems.

Finally I "solved" the problem: someone tested the GPU on another system. It's broken. So I was right not trusting the seller... Thinking about this little fraud, I realized my mistakes based simply on my naive trust in another person.
Well I just want to thank all of you for your interest because this story depressed me a bit and I was glad receveing your free advices trying simply to help another guy with a problem.
Keep yyour chin up fella.
