catpower1980: "we’re no longer independent developers, we’re Steam developers."

A post-mortem on the direct sales launch:

Read the article. Made me think, interesting how the sales evaluation happens within a week of a game's release. So much different from when I started in this hobby in the 80s, where a game could stay on a player's radar for a month or more. Now, unless you have a AAA / big-name release it's like you get a couple days to a week at most before the sales result of a title is declared a success or failure. Both the exposure to the market and the dev / pub expectations have changed so much.

Blame website algorithms and structures for this. A game gets the "snowball effect" or just dies quickly. Greenlight for example is a very good example as every campaign post-mortem will reveal how the first 24 hours are crucial (and we're speaking about yes/no votes, not even really buying games)
Lol. When I clicked on this thread, I was thinking of the NES game called Solstice. :)

The game looks good. I'll have to check it out.
Well that was disappointing, not what i hoping for....meh.

Then, I'll remind you that there is "Lumo" on GOG ;)

It looks nice and I love the soundtrack in the trailer. I do have one question, does the game have voice overs, or is text only?
