Hey guys,
I've been tracking a kickstarter for a game called Socuwan recently. I will say right away, it hasn't been going well. The creator said that if the KS fails, he will have to cancel Socuwan and get a full-time job. Socuwan is a 3D Action-RPG written in Java, you can find out more about it on the KS page : https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1465468930/socuwan-the-community-driven-indie-mmorpg/posts/1346926. Please, only a miracle can save the KS now.

I think with such a long time frame, it's going to be tough to get anybody to back.
I notice that it says MMORPG. I like the concept, but I'm not really a fan of MMOs.
I don't mean to be rude to the guy developing this game but it appears like something that would have had trouble raising attention ten years ago. Most things he mentions in that video can be said about almost any MMORPG ever.
nope sorry can't find any backing point here and also seriously mistrusting the budget planning and timeline.
40€ for the Alpha Access which is still 14 months away is a way too steep pricing point in my opinion for what's gonna be offered then (and ya guessing a somewhat alpha stage is all we really can expect to receive for sure).
Also as most of the money is going towards servers and taxes/fee i can't really imagine him finishing that development for a mere 20K - even with a working prototype right now and a community driven (meaning free workers ^^) development - my sound a bit harsh but i aint trusting a 23 old on delivering on that then - creating an working enjoyable mmo which would be worth the 30-40€ pricing point just seems not possible with all the given limitations.
Still quite impressive work/project so far - but ya rather something i would chip in 10-15€ for the servers as a donation to play it "right now" then and see how it's working than spending 30-40 and "waiting"
Yeah no, even if I could Kickstart I wouldn't do it for an MMO.
Also not a huge fan of using Java for games.

Yup, that alone should ensure that it will never happen.
This isn't the Kickstarter for Vampire Bloodlines 2, so I don't care.

I have no idea what a Socuwan is but it sounds f**king lame.
I don't mean to be unfair towards the guy, he seems really passionate about his project, but I am definitely not interested in his project, and I don't think most of the GOG community will be...

When the OP said it was an Action RPG I actually thought it was an ARPG and not an MMORPG. Unfortunately, people have grown tired of MMOs and pitching one with such apparent low production values (the game looks ugly as hell, in fact, it would have looked ugly 15 years ago) is even worse. With 6 days to go and $50.000 to raise... well, things don't look good at all, especially when there's nothing particularly unique about the game that countless other MMOs don't do already, so he could get people interested enough. The art style is poor, the graphics look really bad, you don't even have story or quests or lore or story, you *can* kill monsters for loot, but it's entirely optional, he seems to be focusing way too much on PvP and, at the end of the day this looks like a mid-90's MMO prototype that never made it past production -- and understandably so. No studio would have backed his project back then, and neither should the Kickstarter community.

I wish him the best of luck, but maybe it's actually better to let this die for now, make something more viable first; smaller, single-player games to get himself out there and, depending on the reception to those titles, then try his go at this again.
