Just wondering if a certain strategy I have has a name.

First of all, some context: The particular game in question is a party-based RPG that has a subsystem that could be considered (mostly) high-attrition. Specifically, spells usually require MP, which starts out full, increases in capacity at higher levels, and is restored by going to the inn or using consumables. So, pretty standard stuff, though not universal.

The strategy is this: I go into an area with strong monsters, or into a boss fight. Once there, I basically use all my spells, not caring about the fact that I'm using up a lot of MP. Then, after the battle, if needed I use consumables. This lets me win battles that would otherwise be too dangerous at my level (or too dangerous in the first place) before the enemies can mount a meaningful offense. Of course, I run through consumables extremely quickly when doing this, so it's not a game-breaking strategy. (There's also the fact that, in this particular game, bosses are hard enough that I've had to make some adjustments to last long enough, so it doesn't feel like a degenerate strategy.)

(By the way, when using this strategy, I fill my party with offensive casters, not bothering with physical combat, tanking, or healing; there just isn't time for that.)

So, what would you call this strategy?
Glass Cannon is what I'd call that strategy

Exactly, sounds like a prototypical Glass Cannon. Kill them before they can kill you by hitting harder and faster.
hear hear..... My mind was set on Blitzkrieg and about to cheese through some of the historical militarical annals (pure for own interest) but i am happy to settle for
