I just finished the affidavit for Keith Ranier's arrest. He's listed in Guinness book of world records as one of three of the top IQs in the world. He made a whole cult of sex-slavery with Allison Mack.

Reading Allison Mack's own website is crazy town. But digging deep into the many articles in the past 10 years of journalists trying to out the creep is deeply troubling. At least the FBI has him.

A link to the affidavit is here. Mack is almost definitely CC-1. https://www.buzzfeed.com/amphtml/krystieyandoli/allison-macks-keith-raniere

I knew actor folks were often crazy, so I shouldn't be surprised. But I'll never watch Smallville the same way again. (assuming I watch it again. It was pretty lousy.)

More than that. Allison Mack established an acting school to lure attractive models and actresses. She worked with a womens group that sounds like some equality and strengthening program. She was bale to lure all sorts of normal people and then trap them through the use of blackmail.

Can you imagine your daughter goes to a class to better her acting chops and then is suddenly too busy to do normal things for a few years to be a slave? All because she doesn't want your story to get released? (that's one of their stories).

This goes well beyond rich folks using money to get what they want.

Also, this Ranier guy had a story done on him a while ago. He can hypnotize and use some sort of linguistic manipulating trick to get people to believe anything. One lady approached him some 5 years ago or so to speak badly about him and give her two cents and then came out as his business partner. Another woman spent 15 minutes with him, according to her. Her husband says two and a half hours. Something happened to her she can't remember.

It's all quite creepy and nuts.

Edit: I just found this video : https://youtu.be/A6bLpcphi_g
Very creepy answers because they are all double entendre or smirked at lies.

People responsible for Smallville should have been arrested a long time ago.
I've read last year's nyt article. Providing kompromat on oneself and branding were both the price of admission.
A toad fucking a viper, as the Russian saying goes.

Also, the Smallville still with Mack in it in the buzzfeed article looks like a cover image for a faux-jailbait photo set (only $20! pay anonymously with bitcoin!).

Smallville wasn't that bad. It had some good points, mostly Lex.

They did however painfully drag out Clark's transition to superman, and made a coastal city visible from Kansas.

But even at its absolute worst, Smallville was better than the Justice League film.

The movie was perfectly fine. I liked the characters and their interactions a lot, the cast is great, and it was paced far better than many superhero movies that tend to get way over long (I'm looking at you, Black Panther).

Smallville was always utter shit, as is 99% of teen drama, all bad acting and terrible writing. Makes a comic book fan outright embarrassed to see his favourite heroes reduced to this teenybopper level.

I read about this not long ago and it's certainly weird. I mentioned it to someone at work and he was like "Allison Mack in a sex cult that's so hot!" and I had to point out it wasn't the sexy kind of sex cult haha.

I'm not coming at this from a Marvel vs DC fan boy, I grew up on the Batman animated series, which wiped the floor with x-men. Terms of comics, prefered the DC one off specials to anything Marvel made.

But on the big screen, the DCU (with exception of Suicide Squad(excluding the joke of a joker)) has been insipid.

It feels play by numbers, huge explosions and set scenes but no feeling of drama, danger or coherance.

That is just how it feels to me. Wonder Woman got rave reviews though one negative comment stuck with me. "Smurfette with a Sword", which sums up the rest of it. A perfect Bruce Wayne (no way anyone going to think he's batman)
Krypton's no better. :/
Despite Dean Cain being a rightwinger, I enjoyed Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman back in the day.
Slavers. The lowest of the low, the absolute worst of humankind.
Also, I always considered Smallville crap.

Neither am I. Overall I like the DC movies way, way more and find most of Marvel's vastly overrated, but they also made stuff I like (like Avengers amd the first and third Thor) and I'm always happy to enjoy their movies. Just as I have no problem pointing out when DC fails (like Superman Returns not to mention turds like Jonah Hex or Catwoman).

Well, obviously out tastes differ greatly. I think Wonder Woman was phenomenal, I love Man of Steel and even BvS I think was really good (especiall the special edition cut). And I think Affleck is a great Batman/Bruce Wayne, probably the best we ever had in live action.
What creeps me out is the guy's powers of influence. I've studied linguistic influence for a while now, it's actually pretty simple to get people to lean one way or another if you inflect properly, but to have someone do this.... wow. Glad this guy (and gal) got caught.
"a cult in which women were pressured into acting as sex slaves."

That appears to be the end point of every single cult out there.
