This has been likely asked before and i didn't find a proper response to this issue and i apologize if i somehow missed it.

What i'd like to know is why are game updates taking longer on GoG than on STEAM eventhough developer sends the update to both platforms at the same time?
I suppose that GoG isn't doing this on purpose but it vexes me how and why?

Thank you
I may be wrong, but I think it is actually often down to the developers neglecting GoG. 99% of their playerbase is on Steam, so they naturally prioritise that. I'm also interested to find out why, though.

No no, in this case the developer released the update in the same time for both platforms and the update is still not available on galaxy (at least for me, unsure whether region takes a role on update availability), while on steam it was 3 hours ago.
I hear of similar situations a lot so i'd like to find out what's the issue with this.

GOG has a manual system with a turnaround time. It's nearly the weekend, so we'll see if they've managed to enqueue it.
