See two screenshots. First screenshot is using the browser alone, and once again you can see the speed is about 3.5MB/s.

The second is using DownThemAll, and the SAME FILE (Sid Meier's Priates) from the SAME SITE (gog) at about the same time (I started one, took a screenshot, started the other, took a screenshot) within seconds/minutes of each other.

Browser download speed.... about 3.5MB/s

DownThemAll speed.... over 12MB/s.

HUGE DIFFERENCE.

There are 8 bits to a byte, plus you never get the full speed, so technically and mathematically it's not possible.

Compression. Some clients can send you data that's compressed on the fly, so a 100MB file can be transmitted in 1 second, meaning 100MB/s transfer rate, even though your line is only 100Mb/s.
Yes, the actual data being transferred is less than 100MB, but it does also depend on how it's reported.

That was one of the reasons why I suggested a proper speed test and using different browsers to isolate an issue, if any.
