THE best vehicle movie is Mad Max: Fury Road. The video game is excellent as well.

Of course it is Mad Max: Fury Road from what I have seen.

Hate to be so boring, but yeah, even after having a quick look over my collection, I'd also have to say Mad Max: Fury Road.

And regarding vehicle movie... ya the obvious Mad Max was already stated several times or well you could go for Death Proof as well imho.
But in this case (guess most will disagree :D) i will go for Gone in 60 Seconds - while from todays standards and views it might not be a really good or memorable movie and maybe it was not even a half decent movie back then ^^ - from a year 2000 perspective i really liked and enjoyed the movie back then and watched it several times ^^ so ya with weird totally subjective nostalgia glasses i gonna for it :D

Not in but thank you. My best "vehicule" movie is Gran Torino. Yes, it's not really a vehicule movie, but Clint Eastwood was amazing and it was a very beautiful story with a great car, even if I couldn't drive something so big (a nightmare to park ! ).

I also wanted to say Mad Max: Fury Road, but this is the internet we can't all agree on something, this is not how it is supposed to work.

The Great Race is probably my second favorite vehicle movie. It got everything and more, cars, swordfights, pie fights and lots of hilarious shenanigans. Oh, and Natalie Wood of course! It's like a live action cartoon. The trailer is really awful but I'll link to it anyway. If you like old movie comedies, give it a chance.

First shout-out to Bullit and its magnificent car chase. It just feels wrong to talk about vehicle movies without mentioning motor sport enthusiast Steve McQueen at least once.

Another shout-out to the James Bond franchise and its glorious collection of gadget cars. How often I've been stuck in a traffic jam, wishing for a missile launcher.

But let's combine it with Disney live action movies. The Love Bug... No, definitely not Herbie Fully Loaded with Lindsay Lohan, if you have to watch a Disney remake with Lohan, watch Freaky Friday instead. That movie was at least tolerable.

The Love Bug is a movie about a VW beetle. Not classic classic, but a fun family movie nonetheless. Fun fact there is even a Love Bug TV movie with Bruce Campbell.

I really wish I could call the next Disney movie underrated, but truth be told it is a really stupid and almost completely forgotten movie. Condorman is a James Bond parody, sadly never reaching the heights or the sheer insanity of parody classics like Airplane or Naked Gun. More of a “rainy sunday afternoon and nothing better to do” kinda movie. Still fun in a silly way.

Final shout-out to something completely different: Aces Go Places 2 aka Mad Mission 2. Really crazy Hong Kong movie. When Condorman is classified as a stupid movie, then Aces must be considered stoooopid. Still in a fun way, but maybe one of those „you had to be there to understand it“ kind of thingies.

A whole post about movie vehicles and I haven't mentioned Knight Rider with David Hasselhoff once. See, that stereotype “all germans love the Hoff” is completely made up!

I'd argue that the best vehicle movie ever is Interstate 76, but that suffers from also being a game. So... I guess my vote will have to go towards Fury Road, after all, "what a lovely day!" ;)

But the best movie vehicle is the DeLorean from Back to the Future. Because time travel.
Or if space ships count as vehicles too, I'll take the TARDIS!

Off-topic, but have you played Night in the Woods? I just realized that your writing style reminds me of some of the dialogue in the game, in particular between Mae and Gregg.

For me the best 'vehicle' movie is Das Boot by Wolfgang Petersen. Not only this is a great war drama, but also a movie that shows example of dependency of man from machine that, makes the 'vehicle' (U-boat) one of the main characters.
This bound is symbolically shown in the final scene, when wounded captain dies seeing his ship sinking after a bombing run.
