This is a great idea for a giveaway. I wish I had more time to continue participating. Thank you to skimmie and paterAlf for the awesome conversation starter though.

BranjoHello: Just finished watching Tokyo Godfathers. Wow, what a ride! Definitely a Christmas miracle movie...and somehow it manages to be both Die Hard and A Wonderful Life...in the terms of Christmas movies. xD
I've been hearing about that movie. Will watch it tonight and see what's up. The title sounds interesting though.
During the previous years, the TV channel(s) where I reside would play at least one Christmas Movie per day for the whole month of December.
I'm not a TV person myself, but I do manage to catch some of those from time to time.

The thing is… I don't really remember / paid attention to their titles; they're fun and heartwarming, and to me that's all that matters… or so I think.
Going back now, I wish I knew what I was watching. I tried searching Christmas movies on IMDB, there were thousands of results and even worse — not everything has a trailer attached to it.

I only managed to dig up five before I call it quits. There's just way too many entries to rummage through, plus I recall about half of those are romance-related. (of which I might get speared at)

Anyway, here are those five:

The Polar Express (2004)

The Santa Clause 2 (2002)

Fred Claus (2007)

Christmas with the Kranks (2004)

Prancer (1989)

┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄┄
Happy Holidays.
Not in.
I was watching Fargo (season 4) last night and I realized many episodes take place during Christmas. Fantastic show, season 1 is a 10/10 but the rest are also worth watching (each season tells a complete story).

How does it compare to the film?

Are there movies you guys relate with Christmas that have nothing to do with Christmas at all?

I think for me it's the Matrix because me and my friends watched that a lot one Christmas break in college.
Infinitely re-watchable, and infinitely
quotable.

As for actual Christmas movies, one time I went to one of my college roommate's home over break where they let me stay for a week or something through Christmas. I found out it was tradition for them to watch The Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job Chrimbus Special. I actually enjoy their absurd comedy, but it's a really weird show to watch as a family, especially every year as a tradition lol. Other than that they were a pretty normal and nice midwestern family.
I also had hamburger helper for the first time there, and it was pretty good lol. Like a meat on meat lasagna.

Stay safe y'all.

TheDudeLebowski: How does it compare to the film?
I loved both. The first season is the most similar in "spirit", but the story is unrelated. Then each subsequent season changes locations, time periods and characters (there are some crossovers though). Season 4 is the most different compared to the others; I didn't enjoy it as much (the opposing gangs story wasn't my cup of tea) but it's still good.

Enebias: Yes, the Mother of All Mothers in Law must be the most horrendous abomination in the universe!
Nyarlathotep the Crawling Chaos couldn't hold a candle to her.
Looks like you had too much of the finest ale a fantasy tavern can provide and managed to project your thoughts from fantasy topic into a reality one. xD

It's hard to be omniscient and omnipresent. Sometimes your thougths just leak!

I mean, could. If they did. But as you can see in my previus post, theu OBVIOUSLY did not. Right?

Trid: As for movie... as stupid as it may sound I love Agatha Christie Poirot TV series and there is this one episode (there is also 1 movie but I don't like it that much) that it's happening during Christmas, somehow I love watching it around that time and the TV station usually air it around Christmas. Apart from that, there is no Christmas without Kevin... somehow...

PaterAlf: When it comes to Agatha Christie movies, the ones that are still the most popular here are the Miss Marple movies starring Margret Rutherford. They are still on TV all the time and even young people know them.

And Santa left you a gift. Hope you don't need a detective to find it.
Thank you very much! Miss Marple were aired here in the past but I honestly don't remember when was last time when I saw it on TV... hmm... now I feel like watching it... I need to check TV program. :)

Punington: I loved 'Murder on the Orient Express' or 'Death on the Nile' but the TV series aren't bad at all. How could that be stupid? It's awesome!
I said stupid because it's not typical "Christmas movie", I like the TV series because because it's... "lighter" (if you know what I mean), and The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding episode is just quite nice without anything terrible happening. :)

Simply put, "Tôkyô goddofâzâzu" (2003) is a masterpiece. If you guys liked it, check out "Pâfekuto burû" (1997). It's another gem from the same director, namely Satoshi Kon.

Lazarus_03: Anyway, here are those five:

The Polar Express (2004)
I'm so happy someone mentioned the Polar Express. I watch that movie during the holidays every year.

I must say, this year's list is growing steadily... A lot of stuff to watch with the family, and some that I'll probably watch on my own... Some I've seen lots of times already, and some new ones

Home Alone
Die Hard
The Muppet Christmas Carol
National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
A Charlie Brown Chistmas
Gremlins
Dinner for One
Klaus
Christmas Chronicles
Christmas Chronicles 2
Scrooged
The Snowman
Bad Santa
Treevenge
It’s a wonderful life
Jingle all the Way
Mickey’s Christmas Carol
Tokyo Godfathers
Garfield Christmas Special
Star Wars Christmas special

...Think I'll have to start really soon!
