Hi

Appreciate any recommendations for games similar to IWD 2.

Preferably with low system requirements.

Thanks and have a good weekend!

Edit:

Didn't like BG1 or BG2. Have played ToEE and PoE.

The Baldur's Gate series?
Planetscape: Torment?
Same company.
Apart from, like zeogold said, BG1, BG2 and Planescape Torment, there is also Temple of Elemental Evil, and the recently released Pillars of Eternity.
Thanks for the replies. Updated the OP with games I've played.
Alternatively, you could check out the older Gold Box games: The Pool of Radiance series (Forgotten Realms Collection 2) and the Krynn series. All these games let you create your entire party, but the combat is turn based tactical. (By tactical, I mean that position is tracked by the game and part of the strategy.)

The Wizardry and Might and Magic games also let you create your entire party, as does Elminage Gothic, but the combat in them is not tactical. The games are turn-based, however.
Although it is made by the same company, and uses the same engine and game system (though an older edition of it) Planescape: Torment is vastly different from IWD2 in that it focuses much, much more on the Story, whereas IWD is more about the combat. So, if it is the tactical, party-based combat you liked most about it, PS:T does have that as well, but it is much less important and also much less challenging, because the main character literally cannot die. You don't write what you did not like about the BG games, but if it was the amount of unvoiced dialogue, PS:T is the wrong game to get.

I don't have any real recommendations, though... I absolutely love all the games with the Infinity Engine (BG, IWD, PS:T) and I would have been totally happy if they had just kept making new games with it... Neverwinter Nights in my opinion is not as good, and you only really command one character.

If you are not too attached too the fantasy setting, though, maybe Knights of the Old Republic is worth a look, though it is very much a kind of Baldur's Gate with a Star Wars setting, but again, I don't know what exactly you did not like about BG. Fallout 1+2 are also classics, but although it is also made by the same studio as IWD2, it uses a different system and has turn-based combat, and although you can have companions, you also only really play one character.
The first Icewind Dale. (Hey, OP didn't mention it as one he'd already played!) =D
Arcanum: Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura is a similar Isometric game along the same vein as the Infinity engine games and Fallout games. Lots of choices, lots of good story going on.
Neverwinter Nights. The original single player campaign is terrible, but Shadows of Undrentide is pretty good. And it takes place in a wintery setting too.

Plus, there are tons of modules for the game.

As mentioned by someone though: you only control one character in addition to one or two hirelings whom you do not control directly.

I don't know much squad team tactical games beyond those I got by accident, assuming they where something else like I assumed with IWD2. Except Expeditions: Conquistador (http://www.gog.com/game/expeditions_conquistador). You have a similar mix of RPG elements and sometimes unforgiving tactical combat there. Most other games from the IWD/BG family lean more to the RPG side than IWD2 (IWD1 being the closest; but it too felt more adventure/explorish than IWD2; and I assume you already tried it).

I would probably clarify, what is it you like about iwd2 and don't like about the other infinity engine games? Personally I found iwd2 the weakest of the set, all focus on combat and nothing else. If you like that dark alliance on xbox is a good equivalent.
Drakensang maybe? It's based on a different system, and full 3D rather than isometric, but I think it's still very much in the same spirit, and close enough with it's combat. Personally, I liked it way more than any of the D&D games.
Perhaps Knights of the Chalice?
