Just curious what other people's experiences are. Does you SO also play videogames? Are they ambivalent? What?
Nope. She doesn't mind that I play them, but she has no interest and is quite frankly amazed that her 52 year old husband likes them.
Me and husband game side by side, though we cant coop too often as he sucks at strategy and his whole philosophy in gaming is to hit it with a sword. I do however, enjoy watching him play games that I would never play for myself. Often yelling out helpful tips and strong opinions which he enjoys so much lolol

Ditto, nearly word-for-word.

Likewise. Subtract 5 years and you have our household.

My three year old daughter, though, is quite interested. Still scared to death of anything violent, but she calls Oblivion, "the Dar'Jee game," because she was amazed when I sat her on my lap and we walked around Leyawin and talked to a lizard lady.
My better half doesn't game, although she does take an interest in what I play.

She does affect how I play though - I just had to buy a new PC for gaming and I made some sacrifices and went with a laptop, solely so I can stay in the same room as her while I'm gaming.
With no significant other, I have no experience and little to nothing to contribute with in this discussion.

Well...you know.
Yep, only we most often are playing different games at the same time in the same room. For the record, he yells at the PC about ten times more frequently than I do. (Mostly at other players on World of Tanks running banned mods.) :)

Subtract another 13 and ditto.
I don't yell at myself if that's what you're saying...............
My wife is a reader, a TV-watch and an adventure/hidden-object gamer. She doesn't game much, but when she has one she really likes, she dives right in.

She played Neverwinter Nights with me for roughly 6 seconds before being bored to death. She hates combat in any game, but tolerated it in the Shannara game from Legend.

Her favorite game series to date are the Drawn games on BigFish.

When we game together, it's almost always Wheel of Fortune.
My wife games a bit, but it tends to be in fits and starts. She's played all three Dragon Age games repeatedly, played a ton of Civ V, and played quite a bit of the Sims 2 and the N64 Zeldas back in the day.

She enjoys watching Rocket League, so maybe I can get her to co-op with me.

Me too, although replace 52 with 40.

My 6 year old, on the other, hand would play video games with me for all hours if I let him.
