hummer010: When my oldest son was three, his favorite Christmas movie was a Curious George: A Very Monkey Christmas. It's not too great for the 35 and 43 year old though.

My oldest is now 6, and we tried watching The Grinch on Saturday (The new'ish one with Jim Carrey) - he was terrified! We had to shut it off! Saturday was a family puke day for us - hence the movie night. In the end we watched Khumba, which is decidedly not a holiday movie, but was entertaining nonetheless.

misteryo: Khumba looks pretty good! Is unaware of that movie. Does the tiger get too scary?

Sorry for your family sickness!
The tiger is a bit scary at times. My six year old covered his face a free times, but we got through it. Somehow not as scary as The Grinch.

I hope you are all feeling better !

:( i'm sorry, that sucks.

I know you already figured movie night out, but if ever looking again, I enjoyed Penguins of Madagascar. It has horrible reviews, but I thought it was funny. *shrugs*
You should watch Wolf Children .

v3: Love Actually should cover you all pretty well. Merry Christmas!
While it's one of my favorite movies of all time, I don't think it's suitable for children of age 3 and below.

While thinking about it, I was having some kids-friendly Christmas scenes in mind, but yes, you are absolutely right. Though to be fair, I wouldn't know which movie to recommend for said age, as even modern cartoons feature mature jokes obviously targeted at adults.

That being said, Love Actually actually offers some sound advice for children, if you cut it at the right time.
Groundhog Day!!

i fell in love with andie macdowell (again and again) in this movie for some reason.

BING!
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Arthur's Christmas

Oh yes, there are plenty of kids-friendly scenes in the movie, but then there is also this one, as well as the rest of the scenes featuring John & Judy (most of which are much more explicit) ;-)

Hahaha, didn't even remember Bilbo's mischiefs until you brought the whole thing up. Kids would never look at Hobbit the same again. Glad you didn't take me up on that misteryo, right? My apologies for the recommendation. I guess I will be the one PG rated after this incident.
There's Merry Christmas Charlie Brown and I'm pretty sure there's also a Garfield Christmas special.
We gave khumba a shot, but I had to shut it off before the mama died. My little girls would not have handled it well. But wrote what nice animation!

After the kids went to bed my wife and I watched Jurassic world. Dumb dumb movie. But good looking dinosaurs. We had fun.

And today we are all feeling well! We may even leave the house later on!
Get Hogfather! It's the best Discworld movie out there and it has a nice Christmas theme. Susan rocks! And Mr. Teatime has been cast very well too.

Hogfather is excellent... if you have read the Discworld novels, at least the ones about Death. If you haven't, then much of it doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

I forgot about that part. My kid seems oblivious to those kind of scenes. Finding Nemo, Lion King, Khumba - none of them bother him. Jim Carrey sneering in a Santa suit - terrifying!

Sometimes I struggle to understand my kid's thought processes. :)

Glad you are all feeling better! We are too. Unfortunately, that means I'm back at work.

Good news that you're all feeling better!

Next time it happens - and it will, unfortunately - add the Wallace and Gromit films to your playlist.
